Hi Ann, glad you enjoyed his performance. Here in the Philippines we call him "Mr. Pure Energy". He is actually a Pop singer but also does jazz and other genres, including gospel. He is at his best when he is on stage singing and dancing to upbeat songs. He is an AMAZING DANCER. He is in his mid-50s. He suffers from type 2 diabetes which makes his performances even more amazing because the disease doesn't seem to affect his energy level.

I may not be understanding your comment but the first percussion scatting he did Al did not do and Gary actually did a longer 2nd scatting section in his version than Al did. Lets keep in mind that this is a tribute to his idol and one of my favorite singers Al Jarreau.

He is not only a singer, but also a producer, composer, dancer, music arranger, husband, father, a devout Christian, etc. A truly multi-faceted person. Even at the age of 56, he can still do his ‘Michael Jackson’ moves. Please watch his latest version of “Sa Yaweh”, a word play praise song which means Dance for Yahweh, which he produced earlier this year in his own home while in lockdown. You will see him rap and dance in this song, which he composed too. It is the one on his own KZbin channel. But my favourite video from him aside “Spain” is “Take me out of the dark”, his recent version, also produced in his own home studio while in lockdown. Oh coach i felt your excitement with gary. He's already 51yo when he perform this on wish bus. He is really energetic when he sing that's why he is called philippines' mr. Pure Energy. He would have danced already had he was standing in that performance. You really can feel the energy. Had it not for his passion in singing and dancing he might have left this world already. He is type 3 diabetic. He has to inject insulane by himself everyday
