What is the tolerance of the run out from the arbor to the cutter? I’m not a machinist so I’m not sure if I am asking the correct question. Or how do you control the machining so the adapter you made does not introduce any wobble in the cutter. I have a mag drill with a chuck adapter attachment. The run out on the drill with the chuck adapter is minimal and was just curious how the machining of your adapter aligns the arbor with the cutter. I do appreciate your explanation in your videos, it’s what keeps me coming back, I learn something new every time. Thanks for the effort.

Hey there and thanks for watching my videos. Since making that arbor I have found the tolerance of the annular cutters arbors to be pretty much spot on 750 thousands. So the hole I made to allow for any variance is not needed and introduces too much run out. I need to make a new one actually at some point.

I have to agree with Mature Patriot, get you so nitrile gloves! I use the heavy duty black one from Horrible Fright. Your machine work came out nice!

Thanks John. Gloves for sure. :)

You should have made the handle like I did when I made my long handle. Lol 😝. I see you watch my videos because of the marking of the part, I learned that trick way back when I had hair. Bud try using your low speed when parting steel, I part steel that thickness all the time with the same set up. My low speed is 75 rpm and that’s what I use to part most steel around the same size. I agree with Vernon get some gloves, I have some not nitrite boy vinyl because Chris brought them home from work. Enjoyed the video

Nice shout out to another great you tube machinist channel. "Simple and easy" great way to jinx a project. Looks like chips, not springs, = good speed feed ratio. What type insert are you using? Yep you jinxed it! LOL One suggestion, nitrile gloves (HF has them) when using chemicals. Have you checked run out? Should be able to take a lot of metal out of a hole with that. Two thumbs up. 'Til next time!

Its a Kenametal holder and insert. Kinda of funky shaped like a elongated rectangle. It was given to me by a machinist friend. It works great because of the fine point. Yeah I should have thrown on some gloves. My bad on that. I will check run out next chance I get.

w/o a paint cap on your foam ceiling all the light will degrade the foam by UV. age .12 or less per sq/ft., Reflectex vapor barrier would brighten your shop also

Hi Tom new subscriber here. Where did you find the R8 adaptor with the 1\2 inch threads on it . I have the same annular cutter set that I need to make the same set up you have so I can use them in my milling machine. Thanks.

I have noticed the features of the apron you are wearing. Can you feature it in an upcoming video and tell us the source?

Lots of work for a 20$ tool holder lol or just buy a blank of each and drill the hole in it and tap them. You made a holder that screws tight into each arbor and it attached to a hole cutter lol. Run that In a few sheets of steel. Then remove that collar to put it on the other! Should be a twice as long video
