Thank you father for this brave and much-needed homily! I hope other priests will be inspired by this homily to speak the same truth in their parishes. We can make a difference to save lives and help those in need and hurting.

I love hearing Father standing up for the image bearers who are in the most dangerous place in the US, a mother's womb.

If a woman in the church has a child that she is not prepared to take care of the child. Then we as members of the church should help her with the choice of life through support or adoption.

The incarnation of God the Word began at the moment of conception in the womb of the holy virgin. This is the ultimate hurdle for any Christian who supports abortion.

I've always valued the more nuanced approach of the Orthodox church compared to the Catholic church. If a teen girl is raped and falls pregnant, surely its her choice whether to get an abortion or not. Rape is violent and traumatic. Wouldn't it be right to support her decision, if she wants an abortion? The Catholic church decries her as a murderer, even though she was raped. What does the Orthodox church say?

Two evils don't make a good. It wasn't her choice to become pregnant, but that doesn't justify murder. Scientifically speaking, life begins at the moment of conception.

The Orthodox Church has had a clear teaching on abortion since the first century. It is murder and sinful.

Fishy, this phone won't let me type in 2 h's. I am using my husband's phone so the name you see isn't mine. I am a convert to the Orthodox Church, but I have watched certain catholics from time to time, especially including Fr. Frank Pavone, with his long-time work to end abortions especially by encouraging a change of minds on the topic.. He has done much work about the lives of those who conceived after trauma( although I do not think that the numbers of such incidences are very high) who ended the life of the child, as opposed to who carried the child to full term. It seems that those who terminated the pregnancy have a rather high percentage of regret about it. A significantly high percentage. There are videos out about women who kept the children because they WERE partly of her and were grandchildren of her parents. In other words, part of the family. Others gave them for adoption. The stories are quite lovely. One woman was raped on a business trip, and severely harmed, but her husband felt that they should raise the child with their other children because the child was of her, and because God had allowed that for His Own Purposes. I just glimpsed the opening of today 's, Jan 3, 2025, Michael Knowles show. The posted topics were abt the current news, but he began by saying that a new report says that the leading cause of death in the world is abortion 45 million of them this last year 42% of deaths in the world are from abortions.. That is a nightmare number. A number that is a source of shame before the universe.

Murder is murder. Sorry we believe the Catholic Church position on this. There is no reason to get an abortion especially not in the year 2025 when we have so much medical knowledge and medical care to help save any child that's in any form of distress. There are literally near zero pregnancies that actually go wrong and if you want to start talking about rape and emotional appeals. Rape pregnancies are literally less than 0.1% of all reasons for an abortion 90% of the reasons for abortion are for because they can't pay for the child. And that's not a good reason. So yeah it's wrong. And you're a little hypothetical doesn't matter either because it's literally 0.1%. We would say that the doctor is the murderer. And she is just manipulated into what she's doing. Although she would have to confess it during confession. Because even if you're manipulated into something it's still a sin

@@jfiglioli There is no way a 10 year old year who has been raped, who can't even survive a pregnancy deserves this! You are ignorant!
