I discovered an invisible teleporter in soc. On the hill right near Sidorovich's bunker, in the air. I was playing with mods and increased my jump height. While just running and jumping back to sid to sell my loot, I was randomly slapped with a loading screen mid-jump and a few seconds later I'm at the gates of the CNPP during a massive raid.

Invisible teleports exist in Call of Pripyat too. I know about two of them - it teleports player to the Pripyat. The first one is located in "Zaton", on "Forestry" (the place where Morgan had a deal with banndits) - this teleport was placed in the roof of the 2 nearby buildings. The second one is located in "Jupiter's surroundings", on "Yanov Station" - this teleport was placed on the roof of the train car's hangar. These teleports exist for reasons unknown to us. But what about invisible teleports in Clear Sky? These teleports was used by NPCs in the game.

When you were talking about the everlasting fire and artificial anomalies you made a comment that anomalies seem to form around certain spots (electrical anomalies around electronic equipment, gas anomalies in swamps, etc) it got me thinking about how the "Ork Teknologee" works in the Warhammer 40K universe, they basically have a collective psy field that makes their technology work because they believe it will work, maybe anomalies are similar, the noosphere comes from the collected knowledge of mankind so maybe for example it puts electro anomalies near electrical equipment because people associate electrical equipment with electric shocks and lightning and whatnot.
@anomalousdugout95572 жыл бұрын
That's a very interesting idea. I will talk about it in the very last layer.
@NixodCreations2 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I had been thinking. The Noosphere is made from the collective consciousness of humanity. So anomalies of certain "themes" will appear in places where they seem most appropriate. It might also be a way to explain why everything breaks down so fast in the zone too. The Exclusion zone is associated with decaying and obsolete technology, so it makes sense that everything that enters it begins to decay too due to the "power of belief". It might also make sense that the number of people within the zone affect how many anomalies there are, and if the zone is growing, it might be because more and more people keep entering it.

For example if they used pre-existing anoamly fields and chucked in the 'ingredients' (electronics, scrap metal or dead mutants/stalkers) to make artifacts. I had a cheap guitar amp that would randomly whisper words at me when turned on. Turns out it was picking up walkie talkie chatter, the cable was the exact wavelength (2 meters) of the transmissions making it an antenna for the unshielded amplification circuits; I was hearing a local amateur radio repeater! Perhaps the everlasting fire operates in a similar way. Some unknown yet steady frequency transmission provides the energy for sustaining the plasma, as long as there's oxygen that's caught a spark and the transmission is on, it could basically burn forever. Edit: it would seem that with the right infrastructure, anomalies could work together (this seems heavily implied by the brain scorcher facility, among others). Perhaps the everlasting fire is a remnant of some preputial motion machine project that was abandoned yet its transmitter remains on. The project might not even have been abandoned, with the everlasting fires as proof that some eternal flame still burns deep down somewhere, powering the zone forever more...

The copied Scar thing makes sense, in fact, that couples with the idea Scar was brainwashed into becoming a Monolith, the "Charon" in Pripyat, which might be covered in this series(currently watching them all!), although it's also possible C Consciousness selects a number of Stalkers to be copied into new Monolith troops, over and over again, which may have happened to Scar as well. This would be the best way to explain the near limitless supply of extremely skilled Stalkers at Monoliths disposal, just copypasta with your noosphere shenanigans. This also has an interesting implication, what if Strider from CoP is a clone of Scar? What if all the expert Monolith snipers are in fact Scars, copied for his expert sniping skill (presumably, at least)? That'd be a pretty harsh revelation for the Monolith who regained their self.

Living copies: Another design document implement - not a fan of it. But there is the compelling argument that - now assuming the Zone is controlled by the C-Con (and it is possible that they did survive Strelok's onslaught, just not physically) - it would be within the range of possible oddities to copy certain key STALKERs, perhaps in order to tarnish their names, preventing them from making all too great strides. I can't really think of many other reasons why they would do that, though. To copy mutants, however, in order to make sure that they will always protect key locations - that seems reasonable enough, and appears to confirm something a Dutyer once complained about: That no matter how many mutant lairs they wipe out, there would always be more. Assuming that a lot of things in the Zone - due to its inherent intertwining with the noosphere - can be influenced through mere thought alone (like the appearance of anomalies), it could also be that some thoughts could be intercepted by the omnipresent C-Consciousness. Like the intent to destroy. They would thus copy more mutants to appear somewhere else in order to retain the balance. As Lebedev once said: The Zone is a system, and a system always strives for balance (equilibrium, as it were). Whether the C-Consciousness is just a part of this system or actually dictates it remains unclear. Concerning the C-Consciousness, however, I do not believe that they are god-tier pluripotent entities ruling over the Zone. They are likely capable of a degree of control over many things and concepts, but I also think they require a lot of energy and possibly focal points (like psi-emitters) in order to do that, and thus they won't squander the resources they do have. After all: If they were quasi-gods, why would they need to bend the will of armed men for protection? They could just destroy any intruders at their leisure if they were so powerful. But no, they, too, have to work with what the Zone provides. For example, I do not believe that they have any control over anomalies, and neither can they "create" new types of mutants. They may be able to spawn anomalies, same as regular STALKERs are possibly capable of, but perhaps more intentionally. The theory that anomalies are the representations of human thoughts (or rather, congregations thereof) is very compelling and I, based on the information we have, would agree. To that end, I would propose my own theory: The Zone is a physical manifestation of a small part of the human thought-space, also known as the noosphere. A heavily distorted, twisted, torn apart, ripped open or otherwise damaged part of it. This damage might be the reason why these concentrated thoughts (anomalies) are over-represented and bend the laws of physics, but only in certain places. The more people enter the Zone, the more energy is brought into it, and the more frequently the C-Consciousness has to discharge these thought-energies in something we call an "emission" or blowout, all in order to reattain equilibrium. It's possible that if the C-Consciousness wouldn't perform these emissions, it might be that eventually, with enough pent-up energy, the entire Zone would break down and implode. I would also believe that the Zone becomes less and less stable the further towards the center we go, causing more emissions the more people reside within the heart. Therefore, emissions are essentially eruptions of thought-energy, measured in "psi". Psi-fields, or thought-fields, may be unusually high concentrations of various, incoherent thoughts leaked into the physical world from the bleeding noosphere. That means that the entire Zone is a giant psi-field. After all, it is even a gameplay element (at least in CoP) that there are background whispers, described as a "constant stream of thoughts" that can be silenced by surviving an emission without shelter (granting you the achievement "Marked by the Zone"). It is possible that through doing this, one's connection to the noosphere becomes damaged, whatever the implications of that may be. In theory, this should make you more resistant to psi-emissions. I'm also a bit stupid, so take all of this with a grain of salt. That's just my theory based on what I've read here in the comments, what I've seen in the videos, and my own ponderings. Yantar teleporters: Not lore-related. Not interesting to me, but indeed may be for speedrunners. Brenter: What an astounding find, to think that a two-story bunker would house more than one quasi-senile professor. To be fair, though, it requires quite some suspension of disbelief to imagine more than Sakharov to live there, since we don't see a whole lot of clutter lying around and the bunker doesn't generally look very "lived-in". Guide is an agent: I don't doubt it, but the only motive we've ever seen from the C-Con is that they want people to stay the hell away from the heart of the zone. A guide - a person that leads people to places - would certainly not help that goal, quite the opposite in fact. The Zone is not growing: Now, I have a lot of possible ideas for the STALKER 2 main plot, but most of them indeed center around the prevention of the Zone's growth. Perhaps with weakened C-Con control, there are no energy discharges - emissions - anymore, and the Zone is on the verge of collapsing. Or, somebody destabilized the Zone on purpose, perhaps to destroy it, not knowing what it could mean for the rest of the world. But yeah, it seems possible that following Strelok's departure and the events of 2011/2012, the Zone has been very stable and didn't grow at all. Everlasting fire: At first, I was like "yeah, that's just engine limitations", but if we apply the theory from above, it doesn't seem off that every man-made fire becomes a small-time anomaly as long as people are around. Therefore, the second the campfire is lit, it doesn't respond to physical phenomena anymore as long as there is a sufficient concentration of thoughts that intend for it to last. Think: You can't extinguish a burner anomaly with water either, because the flame is disattached from the physical world surrounding it. Anomalous thought-energy may indeed also be the reason why all the electrical lights in underground locations are turned on, despite there being no possible power source for them, so I agree with your theory here. Artificial anomalies: Another extension of the theory presented above. Many STALKERs may pass by an oven and subconsciously think about its originally intended function, and over time, a burner anomaly may be generated. The C-Consciousness may similarly be capable of artificially weaponizing some of these locations, even where no STALKER has ever been before, essentially preventing people from entering it (airborne anomalies for instance). And for sure, there are anomalies that were generated in the X-Labs for testing purposes, likely in the small time window between the 2006 incident and the point when the surviving scientists bailed out of the Zone. Closing statement: I kinda had to get this one off my chest, since I've always been wondering what exactly generates anomalies in this universe. It's always good to assume they're just "there", but I wanted to know more. But now that I've dug a bit more into the concept of the noosphere, I began to realize just what exactly those scientists messed with in the STALKER universe. Now the possibilities seem endless regarding the origin of anomalies. But I'm going with the thought-energy thing.

This opens up for a great opportunity to add Guide to Stalker: Anomaly (at least into the Monolith story quests)and give him unique dialogue. Only problem, if this theory is false it could be possibly lore-breaking. Though his existence could still be explained as an anomaly-either the copied Stalkers theory or maybe as a result of his encounter with the Wish Granter? If there could possibly be any reason he or someone else would ask the Wish Granter to copy him. Or mix his consciousness with the consciousness of other entities in the Zone like the C-Consciousness itself and turn him into some sort of evil copy of himself giving the player false but still possibly interesting information about the Zone-some sort of riddle, the options are limitless. Intereting little fact (most likely coincidence) that lends credibility to the intention from the dev's that artifacts were meant to be used by the player. There is a dramatic principle used with films (mostly) call Chekhov's Gun, which states that the details of the story will contribute to the overall narrative. If you bring attention to a character in a story having something (like a gun for example) then that character has to use it or it has to be involved in the story. The Dialogue with Yar is referring to Chekhov as though that is where he is getting his information. An Easter Egg perhaps?

I would wager the invisible teleporters are simply, basically, the AI's equivalent of level transition points. If you play warfare mode you will notice most of the time when NPCs are about to leave a level, or just arrived in a level, they will be in a significantly different place than if the player uses the normal level transition points from the level they left to the level they are arriving in, amd vice versa. I believe these invisible teleporters are placeholder level transitions intended for the Alife to use to move to and from levels. Its really boring, I know, but Im pretty positively convinced this is the case. Although the fact some invisible teleporters may not be a direct connection to levels, for example Cordon to Garbage and vice versa, its probably nothing crazy or deep lore related. Just a trick to get a feature to work right. Devs do these kinds of things literally all the time even still today. But at the end of the day, only the devs truly know the real answer and original intention.

the Living Copies theory is especially interesting, as that's also a key plot element from Stanislaw Lem's *Solaris* - an influential sci-fi book about a godlike living planet, which much like the Zone, reacts poorly to human attempts to understand it. for unknown reasons the planet creates copies of individuals from the memories of the scientists studying it, and sends them to speak to the scientists. the book was adapted into a film in 1972... by Andrei Tarkovsky, who of course directed Stalker. coincidentally it's also a plot point in the book Annihilation (and its film adapation), which also happens to be about exploring an anomalous and seemingly sentient Zone of formerly-inhabited wilderness where the laws of science have ceased to apply. i highly recommend the film and book for anyone who wants something that's kind of a mix between Stalker's dark surreal atmosphere and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s more exciting sci-fi/thriller/horror blend btw

I believe that the Zone cannot be expanding further, as seen that more violent anomalies tends to be near the core while the more gravitational one are scattered outside, also even if it did expand, the C-Consciousness would exhaust a much more bigger output, essentially overdoing it self while risking letting the strings lose of it's pawns, Mololith soldier. Think about it, if the the C-Consciousness truly have indefinite amount of energy to spend, there wouldn't even be a slight chance of anyone coming near or the scientists who were in the project would've already sealed their deal, Also the plus side of taking over Brain Scorcher, it's influence on mind is more powerful.
@jtnachos162 жыл бұрын
'living copies' also theoretically validates 'Scar is Charon', doesn't it? If the original was picked up by CS at the swamps, and the copy was further in, getting picked up by Monolith. This could also point toward Fang's killers not actually being mercs, but Monolith troops not getting recognized as what they are. This copying aspect also further explains monolith's endless numbers and equipment. It's kind of interesting how many 'plot holes' or other nonsensicals suddenly make sense when you look at the content cut from gameplay. Stuff getting cut from gameplay doesn't necessarily mean it is cut from lore.

Re Zone in Ukraine, in my opinion is an equally large Zone in Belarus as can be seen in KZbin videos of the real-life areas; in 1986 it seems the wind was blowing north of the CNPP before veering west, and it would perhaps be interesting for mods to include both countries in their maps. Your videos are very interesting. Thanks and Regards JB
