Hi Anoma, i m a fan of you well done, only missing item was 'uluhal' that was a must item for this kanji. when u soke the rice add one tea spoon uluhal and soak. u will get the perfect kanji thank you dear

For my version of Ramazan kanji I use white raw rice, uluhaal, corn, garlic, gammiris eta, rampe karapincha,enasal karabuneti,chicken, cinnamon and coconut milk. This was taught by one of my muslim friend. Not only in Ramazan I make this usually cause my husband and kids love the taste.

Hi dear Anoma it’s good for teaching food during the time most ppl need it. We all like to taste different food n respect their food. This kanji good even for us specially when we get sick to have it. I usually do that way. I m currently staying in Saudi n different ppl makes it different way. One of our Sri Lankan Muslim used uluhal, sera, corn, chicken , carrots etc. When I read your comments it’s really nice to see everybody is respecting each other n share their way of making n even in that comments all can learn. You too very humble with it. We should not pass hints or let down others. Your comment section is very peaceful n appreciate your balance mind more than anything....

Also I made your butter scotch pudding recently n came out very well. Also I made your coffee soufflé too. In utube your butter scotch is outstanding for me. I don’t like it making it like we make caramel style n adding corn. Even in western recipes it’s same n your one is my best. But I had a small problem with your huge quantities as I made it with a small condensed milk for the family. So I went through with coffee soufflé recipe n adjust it. If you can plz give ingredients for the small tin in that butter scotch pudding n highly appreciate it. Thanks a lot

This is the Indian style kanjee.. Sri Lankans don’t use Mung dhal,, we make it with raw rice and broken wheat grains.. the soup needs a little extra coconut milk.. it looks a little thicker than the usual.. anyways looks yum as all your recipes . ❤️

කාලකන්නි. මේකටත් ජාතිවදෙ අරන් එනවා. බලන්න බැරි නම් නොබල ඉදිය නම් හරිනෙ. බිරියානි කියන්නෙත් මුස්ලිම් කෑමක්. ඒක මුස්ලිම් කියලා මේ බැනල තියෙන අය නොකා ඉන්නවද? ඒ මනුස්සයා රට රටවල් වල කෑම ගැන කියල දෙනවා, මේකත් අපේ රටේ එක ජන වර්ගයක කෑම වර්ගයක් විතරයි. මෙකට දාල තියෙන comment දැක්කම පුදුම හිතුනා සිංහල cooking channel එකකට මුස්ලිම් අය කොච්චර කොමෙන්ට් කරලද. මේක නෙමෙයිද අපේ රටේ වෙන්න ඕනෙ. හැමෝම ලංකාවෙ අය කියලා හිතුව නම් අද අපේ රට මෙතන නෙමෙයි. අනිත් අය වැරදි කරා කියලා අපි හැමෝම වැරදි කරන්න ඕනෙ නෑ. යම් පිරිසක් කරපු වැරදි වලට හැමෝම පලිත් නෑ. දැන් ඉතින් මෙහෙම කිවුව කියලා හැමෝම මට බැනන් එන්න එපා. මන් කියන්නෙ මට පේන, මම දකින දේ.

Aunty, making food from other ethnicities creates awareness, understanding and empathy among cultures. Your spiritual reflection for the season of Raamadhan shows you are a kind human being. If we are not hesitant to try out food from other cultures while traveling, why would we be unwilling to try a dish from our country's minority muslims? I am sure not everyone will agree with me due to past incidents that took place in Sri Lanka. However, food does not have racism tied within itself.

Hi anoma mam! I'm a huge fan of u & ur recipe. This kanji looks so yum. But generally we make kanji with white raw rice and no moungdhal. And we add some termeric powder and more thickened milk. But this way I gonna try tomorrow. Definitely it will be winwin🥰 thank you. We awaiting for ur next video

Thanks for this yummy recipe aunty! Oh how much I like the thick luscious kanji! This made me go down the Memory lane.. 😊We had a Muslim neighbor when growing up. She used to send a pot of piping hot kanji to us every Ramadan season.we looked forward to it every Ramadan season. Loved it so much. I’m going to give this a try tonight 😊

Hi aunty ,next time make porridge with red raw rice one cup and broken wheat half a cup quantity ,and finally add drumstick leaves for the spicy porridge .,its very healthy and yummy

Hi Anoma this is how I do our conjee.. Boil meat of your choice with salt,ginger garlic,small piece of cinnamon,cardomon,pinch of turmaric...when the meat is cooked, to that stock add red rice or white rice,let it cook well...then take off heat mash it a bit with the back of the spoon then add thick coconut milk,heat it... To make it more tasty temper onion,rampe,bit of suduru in oil or ghee add it over the conjee,then sprinkle chopped coriander/ mint leaves with a bit of pepper .....

Yup, this is how I make it too (minus the coriander/mint leaves). The stock is key really. That's where all the flavour is!

Hi Aunty, usually we make it with red or white raw rice with added broken wheat, ginger with more garlic, uluhal, tumaric powder and with more coconut milk, your recipe looks yummy too as usual as your other recipes, I'm gonna try this too, May God bless you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Masha Allaha...Aunty oya Hari poddak Spice karala uluhal ad karanna athakota ara suwadata hikanma kanna hithanawa.. Ape palliyata gihin keda(plan keda) aragena anakota ara uluhal suwadata road ake thiyala kanna hithanawa. This month no kanji,only home made. Ape inne Kuwait ake so now we are making (only boys) for three days. Thanks Thanks.
