“Anonymous” Miles Taylor: Trump Second Term Would Focus Solely on Revenge | Amanpour and Company

Miles Taylor is a former Trump staffer turned anonymous whistleblower who called attention to the former president’s misconduct while in office. Now Taylor is openly sounding the alarm about the possibility of a second Trump term. Taylor's new book "Blowback" is the product of almost 100 conversations with former Trump staffers. The author speaks with Michel Martin about his book and reflects on his own time in the administration.

I hope he stays safe, but, frankly, I found the anonymous column as cowardly. Looking back, ask yourself - if he and others had stood up at that time - where would we be now? Impeachment through #25 could have worked. Yes, he is sending the alarm now but MAGA is so entrenched that they are more difficult to turn. Anonymity is not helpful, for sure.

Of the voters during the last election, "only" two who came to our voting location were frightening. One was also a poll watcher for the Republican Party. The first time he came that election day he stood yelling that we were fascists. He was not on our lists as a resident in our district so I checked and gave him the address where he could vote and after much yelling, he finally left. He came back hours later, gloating that he had voted at two other locations. I told him that only one would be counted because every ballot issued had an ID code, which included his info. He gaped at me. He then followed me and said he had authorization to observe. I checked it and showed him where he could sit and told him he was not allowed to talk with voters. He wanted to stand beside them. I said no - and showed him the written rules for observers. Later, he followed me into the kitchen and demanded my name. I pointed to the badge I wore. He wanted to know how I knew the policies. I told him all poll workers are trained and were given a booklet to study. (I'd been doing this for 40+ years, and every year, rules changed, so I know to study them!) I kept a wary eye on him until the polls closed. I told him he would have to leave, ready to show him the rule on that. But, he left without a word. It beats me why someone would be proud of cheating and causing fear. Those are not the characteristics of a patriot in my mother's book - and I've always strived to live up to her example.

Brave man.... and I agree with him, it's better to come out sooner. However, I have done this time and again against bullying neighbours in England and Scotland, but the police and legal system penalises too often those who do so. If you stick your neck out, and get a backlash, from my experience people 'cowardly' too often do not come forward... but then the legal system is also to blame because it rewards those who bully by 'stupidly' and 'ignorantly' going with the largest numbers, therefore rewarding bullying! I love this brave young man, he's very articulate and old beyond his years. His integrity reminds me of those Germans with steadfast values that stood against Hitler in the 1930's/40's and who were sent to concentration camps. Appreciate Miles Taylor's bravery. During the Obama Administration it seemed that the GOP was becoming unwilling to cooperate with Democrats. Then-Leader Mitch McConnell was steadfastly against letting President Obama from filling the SCOTUS. McConnell would not allow hearings for Merrick Garland or allow Obama to bring judges forward to fill SCOTUS. McConnell forced the SCOTUS vacancies to carry over until Trump's first term election. McConnell was executing Republican brinksmanship.

After I read a book on stolen souls and stolen lands a treatment of people of color by WM. My fear is the lawlessness that might arise from another term of Trump and his supporters.
