I can give you some international context as a white South African. I lived the first half of my life as a white beneficiary of apartheid and when that ended in 1994 I lived the second half of my life under a black-majority government. A young person once asked me what it was like to live during apartheid. I told them to just imagine the KKK running an entire country and that was South Africa during apartheid. Technically it wasn't quite slavery, but if anybody could say they deserved reparations it was black South Africans. So when apartheid ended there was some brief talk about reparations. These talks mostly took the form of a proposed once-off wealth tax that all white people would pay. Other ideas were to nationalize a portion of white-owned pension funds or to impose higher income tax rates for white people. In the end the black-majority government considered the whole idea impractical and dropped it. If a country where black people have the power to impose reparations decide to NOT do it, then that tells you something.

If you aren't out anything; You aren't owed anything. That's justice.

I have a TikTok account guys🤣 As a black man, I'd love a financial windfall but I don't expect anything, just be able to make a living and take care of myself. I too think a critical question is where will the money come from. For what it's worth, the pro-reparations crowd is seething over the monies being to the immigrants.

Great episode as always. In it you state people should not be as much as they are of cartels and monopolies. The latter I disagree with at least in the 21st century. I’m mainly referencing big tech. I would love if you did an episode on the formation of AI and their imo illegal training on copywritten data. It seems to finally be coming to the surface now, but it is obvious these companies are not paying royalties no matter how much they make off of other people’s products. Thank you for sharing.

Hahaha, maybe a Words & Numbers TikTok will pull in some listeners, like KZbin shorts from Sir Antony's vids.

Actually, I may be a “fool for making the case” for some of the sex-slaved Chinese women who were taken from their homeland and abused during the long voyage to the west, only to be put in horrible environments and abused until death. Oh, and I am not Chinese. “Just sayin’ “.
