Oh stop... If any other judge did this, it would be just as despicable. The fact we don't have a way to hold these justices accountable for their actions such as living millionaire lifestyles thanks to their billionaire handlers, not excusing themselves from related cases when their spouse is involved in the insurrection, and now a judge claimed that he had an upsidedown flag because of a petty neighbor fight is a joke. American people with common sense should not be insulted with such poor excuse about how that flag was flown upside down... And refuse to recuse himself from current immunity case, that's a slap in the face of justice.

Comical how this is framed by the WSJ as an attack from the left, as if this is only news because it involves a conservative justice. And since Alito doesn't dispute the facts -- that the picture is accurate, that the flag did fly upside down in front of his house for a period of time -- it's a major stretch to call it an attack, as if there's really a counter argument to be made that this is all hunky-dory and in keeping with the behavioral guidelines of a sitting Supreme Court Justice. Alito's "blame the wife" defense is beyond poor, especially as it begs the question: "Were you not aware that you had an upside down flag flying in front of your home, sir? And if you were, why would you possibly allow this given your responsibilities as a justice?" Placating one's spouse is hardly an excuse in this situation, and the WSJ should know that. Problem is, they do...but still can't find the courage to hold Alito responsible.

The biggest question is why the political Right isn’t attacking Alito. This is such overt politicization of the Supreme Court that it should be equally derided from all sides. This was not an accident.

@@wethepeople2023Nope. The _appearance_ of a conflict of interest _is_ a conflict of interest. So says the ethical code of every Bar Association (they're the ones who make the rules for lawyers). When Alito or Thomas or any other magistrate, judge or justice flips the bird to their ethical obligations, they are no longer legitimate practitioners of law. Choose one: free speech or holding a law license.

@@TomBarbashev I try to make sure I know who owns what I watch and read. I look up owners, how long the outlet has functioned, it’s history, who the journalist is what their history is. And I go to many outlets for my information. Including other countries news outlets. Western, Eastern ,Asian as well as Latin American. It’s exhausting . But I know, I am what I read. But yes it is increasingly difficult to know everyone. The tangled webs of moneyed political and geopolitical interests are many. But I think we all know rupert murdoch’s aim. In every country his interests are. And that is my point.

It’s not the Left that is “attacking” him, it’s all Americans who care about our justice system and moral values. I’m 70, and for the first time, I have zero faith in our Supreme Court. Between Alito and Thomas especially, it’s impossible to have any faith. They both should have recused themselves from ANY case related to Trump or the Jan 6 insurrection. Alito’s upside down flag was over the top disgraceful, and blaming his wife was ridiculous to say the least. I wish they could both be removed from the Court completely. VOTE BLUE 💙…maybe it could happen.

If Congress makes laws that cannot be interpreted by the courts, it stops controversial decisions by the courts. That is how you limit a Courts power. You write a law that overturns any decision they interpret.

I consider the source and don't bother to listen. The WSJ editorial opinion preceding the immunity hearing advocating for defendant Trump reduced to zero any credibility I had accorded that board. I assume these commentators will defend the indefensible, as it would defend the Supreme Court's finding the Constitution unconstitutional if it served a MAGA objective.

So that whoever repents of their sins and puts their faith and trust in Jesus christ as lord and savior, will be saved from the judgment of hell and will have everlasting life with God for eternity. I believe the real problem is we shouldn't have paid off judges in any court especially the highest court with no accountability. Having them self regulate and voluntarily self report donation ( which none of them should be recieving) is utterly undemocratic and opens the door for mass corruption.
