Just found flicker at the thrift store for $2! Definitely grabbed my attention reading the first page!!

That's so awesome! $2 is a steal because if you try and get it somewhere online it's way more expensive. Flicker was a very interesting story and I felt like I learned a ton about film when reading it.

Never heard of 'Flicker' but it sounds really great, something up my alley. I gotta check that one out!

I'm going to start that one very soon (wanted to save it for closer to the end of June) but I'm really looking forward to it.

Great haul! Many of these are on my radar. Junji Ito is always fun! I read Duma Key a while back but I remember really enjoying it.
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Oh yes, Junji Ito reads are always a trip. Between the artwork and the plot they're very creepy and entertaining in a surreal way. Glad to hear you liked Duma Key! I will be starting it very soon and I'm really looking forward to it. I still can't believe I haven't read it yet haha.

That's so awesome to hear! :D. Any books at the top of your TBR list in particular?

@@taylortalkstales8106 Oh god, so many lol but the first few that jump to mind are probably Kin by Kealan Patrick Burke, Blackwater by Michael McDowell, and Dear Laura by Gemma Amor :)

The Pale White sounds great! I will have to pick that one up for sure.

It's very good. For a novella, there was a lot of character development, and the relationship between two of the girls was particularly strong. I loved the ending, almost brought tears to my eyes.

I haven't heard of Flicker but it sounds terrific, just bought the e-book. A book similar to Night Film that I'd recommend to you is Gemma Files' Experimental Film. Also, I know you have mentioned Stephen Graham Jones before, but if you haven't read it I highly recommend his book Demon Theory. It's a collection for a fictional horror trilogy. One of his first books. Very meta. One of my favorites by him.
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the recommendations! I read Experimental Film a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it too. It's one of those books I think is pretty underrated. I haven't heard of Demon Theory! I just looked it up and it sounds amazing. I went ahead and ordered myself a copy to hopefully read in July :).

I bought Blackwater based on another video you had featuring that book. :)

In The Valley Of The Sun is my #1 book so far this year.

I bought 14 books in last 2 week......my quota for the rest of the year..... maybe.?
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with buying books I say! Since quarantine I've bought more books over a couple of months than I have in several years combined haha. I keep telling myself that once my town's library opens back up I'll slow down the book buying, yet I've already bought a few more books for July XD. Once you start it's hard to stop.

Matthew M. Bartlett's Gateways to Abomination and it's sequel Creeping Waves really freaked me out, it's Like a lucid dream/nightmare. The Changeling is also quite good. I have to check out some of these other's you grabbed. How have you not read Duma Key already? jk. It is one of his better Novels from his later stuff I think. Very heartbreaking and spooky.
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
I know right?!! I've read so much King but Duma Key always escaped me, and not because I wasn't interested in it either haha. Once I finish up Pilo Family Circus and In The Valley Of the Sun I'll be getting to it. I've heard very good things. Gateways to Abomination was very creepy! It gave me this very eerie feeling after I finished reading it. I didn't know there was a sequel so thank you for letting me know. I'll have to pick it up very soon.

Excellent! Many of these look great! Subscribed! Have you read Baby Teeth? I’m currently reading: The Institute, NOS4A2, and The Devil Crept In. (That last one is the real page turner so far)

Thank you so much! Oooo those are some very good choices. The Devil Crept In is my second favorite Ania Ahlborn book following Brother. I haven't read Baby Teeth but I've had it on my TBR for a while now. Did you like it?

Hi Taylor I hope your well.i was wondering if you could recommend any scary/gory/gruesome vampire books, I'm finding it difficult to find any.thank you 😀
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
One book to start with is this collection of three books in one. It's very dark and gory. I recommend getting this specific edition if you can because there have been some changes/edits made to some of the newer editions that water down the story a bit/have some editing issues. www.amazon.com/Midnight-Blue-Sonja-Collection/dp/0565049003/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=midnight+blue+sonja&qid=1592677773&s=books&sr=1-1
