Hahaha I definitely could bring a whole bag of books with me! But...I limited myself to two books XD. If you're interested I'm currently uploading my video detailing the trip which is also a combo video with reading Devolution by Max Brooks. It's different than anything I've done so far so it's a bit experimental. The trip was awesome and I had a great time.

You're so welcome! That's awesome! I love living in the Seattle area. I get the best of both worlds where I can drive into Seattle for a day in the city, but I'm also by the Cascades and several lakes and rivers so I can do a lot outdoor activities and take advantage of the gorgeous PNW summers.

My condolences about your grandmother. It looks like you had a great backpacking trip. I read Survivor Song, & although it's def a departure for Tremblay I enjoyed it. I appreciated the friendships in it. Dark Tower is a series I wish I could reread for the first time. Tied with IT as my fave King. Although I have yet to read The Stand, so I'm sure once I do that ranking could change.

I ordered Survivor Song too, but it takes some days to receive it in Germany. So now I enjoy Mexican Gothic very much...such a great read!

I originally placed it on hold at my local library, but it was going to take too long to get it so I decided to just go ahead and buy it :D

@@taylortalkstales8106 Hope you enjoyed your trip! Survivor Song should arrive in a couple of days...I won´t complain since it is an import and the Corona situation also affects the travel ways. IMO you can´t go wrong with Mexican Gothic...it´s a chilling slow burn but also a beautiful story at it´s core!

Thank you so much Kristine! I'm currently uploading my backpacking vlog video (which I combined with a reading vlog for Devolution by Max Brooks) which should be up in an hour or so. It's totally different from anything I've done yet so I'm a little nervous about it (it's a bit long) but there was some awesome footage I shot. I figured it would be fun to share since it's an area I don't think a lot of people have been to. Plus, I have a lot of wildlife footage! My favorite clips are of the otters.

Such a great tbr. The Dark Tower series is one of my favorite series. I am reading Survivor Song right now and loving it. Oh man I am right in the middle of The Worst is Yet to Come right now as well and loving it.

Have a good time camping. Shoot a found footage horror movie, don't tell the family. Just kidding or am I? I just started Survivors Song, and Ramsey Campbell's The Wise Friend. Liking them both so far. Enjoy being unplugged to the world I think we could all use a camping trip right now. edit. Need to add The Only Good Indians by SGJ. I finished it in a day. Maybe my favorite book this year. Can't wait to know what you think of it.

Thank you so much! My backpacking/reading vlog video is currently being uploaded right now. I did document a decent amount of the trip. Nothing spooky attacked me, but I found some weird washed up dead things on the beach and one night I did hear some rustling in the trees by my tent. I enjoyed the time off for sure. The troubles of the world were far away and I felt like I was truly living in the moment the whole time. Also saw some awesome wildlife, some I was able to capture on the video too. Oh heck yes! I received my copy of The Only Good Indians in the mail while I was gone. Can't wait to get to it. I'm not sure if I'm going to read it in July or wait until August. It'll be hard to wait because I've heard great things about it :)

I loved Shadowland by Peter Straub. He's one of my favorite authors. I'm currently reading The Cipher by Kathe Koja.

Ooooo I've really been wanting to read The Cipher for a long time! Unfortunately it's currently out of print, and physical copies are very expensive. I've been toying with listening to it on audiobook or maybe just reading an ebook of it, but I noticed on Amazon it looks like a reprint is coming out in September so I'm going to wait and get a copy then. Are you liking it so far?

I've finished it. It's definitely very different from what I expected. I did enjoy it but I think it's not a book that every horror fan will enjoy. I've heard some people call it pretentious and I can see how they think that. It's something I imagine fits a certain niche of horror fans. I recommend you should read it though. I myself am going to read everything that Kathe Koja wrote that I can get my hands on
