I grease my elbow clamp after every pour. Will get months out of it with it swinging freely and not leaking grout. Needs to be done after every pour though.
@canadianconcretepumper197910 ай бұрын
No kidding? And that’s through the grease nipple at the clamp?
@danieldennigan809310 ай бұрын
Yep, there's 2 nipples either side of clamp. I've greased it intermittently and that's when ya run into problems and the grease ceases up the 90 elbow. Last time I changed that gasket was November and still going strong
@canadianconcretepumper197910 ай бұрын
@@danieldennigan8093 Okay, next time I start with a fresh swivel I’m going to use your suggested method. I had never greased it daily as you suggest, which is probably the critical element/where I went wrong. Great advice. Appreciate you chiming in 🙏🙏🙏

@canadianconcretepumper1979 give the excess grease that comes out of the clamp a wash of to stop it falling on the pump when folding up or on the hose man's head the next day 😂😂

Here in France whe have these certifications for cranes, tower cranes, manlifts etc and whe must redo all the tests every 5 or 10 years. For example i'm certified on wheeled loaders, excavators ( tracked and wheeled), telehandlers, articuled and rigid dump trucks.

I run about 6 washers over the bolt of the prime port clamp so when it starts to strip I can pull the washers and get onto some threads. That buys me a little time to replace the worn parts instead of dealing with stripped out parts.

I had the exact same thing happen to me with the hand brake. I called Putz and had them calling mack checking fuses out and the whole 9. When it happens, you'll never forget it ever again 😂 the littlest of things can cause mass panic

100% I learned literally the exact same way. You could tell/warn someone a hundred times, but until they've been in the situation, they'd never remember.

I've learned about the hand brake the same way. Except for me while I was on the phone with Mack a mixer driver waiting to unload got tired of waiting told me to check the hand brake 😅

I'm glad I'm not the only one 😂😂😂 if anything I'm hoping out of the cab saying it's a faulty battery. Not a chance I'm telling that mixer driver he had all the answers. Jk jk.

We do occasionally, but see only a very small percentage of that market share in our area.

Finally found someone who shares the same opinion about the boom elbow grease nipples. 😂 Been telling the same thing that they are useless since they grease the outside of the seal where is no movement. Since I stopped greasing them regulalry it does seem that the seals last a bit longer. And if they do start leaking and need replacing there is less gunk to clean. Wish the PTO shaft joints would be the same type of deal - so no more crawling under the machine to grease them 😂

Hey Scott are those your finishers and form Carpenters that are doing the placing and form work
@canadianconcretepumper197910 ай бұрын
But in this one. Our finishers stick strictly placing/finishing residential work as well as light industrial. These commercial placers we work together with in larger scale commercial projects, but remain as separate entities.

Why not add it at the shop your slurry no prim port not needed
@canadianconcretepumper197910 ай бұрын
We prefer using the prime-port as there's less mixing between primer and concrete. Also, we get away with using much less primer in comparison to adding it into the hopper. It just works better for us (especially because were typically using bentonite to prime).
