I bet the first guy "forgot" to pay the gas bill and the gas company shut him off and installed block off plates at the meter unions. The owner then tried to just turn on the valve but the block off plates prevent enough flow. Thanks for your great videos.

@@jimh598 : I didn’t see any plates on the gas valve. It was really weird, but there definitely wasn’t any gas getting into the garage. I would’ve checked the inside of the house, but nobody was home.

@@thewaterheaterfactory They undo the unions at the meter and install them at the rubber sealing washers inside the joints.

Not understanding the no gas or restricted flow on the first call but its certainly a possibility I didnt see any effort to diagnose Ive had mud get in piping on new construction I have seen expansion plugs inside the piping that was put there for non payment of gas bill (actually had wealthy owners many years ago that left the country and forighnors at the house didnt know why they didnt have hot water . coulda had another valve somewhere that was closed partialy. Yea the controls or circuit boards are total shit been that way a long time i guess the valves aint that bad but the boards are

@@jeffreyplumber1975 : Yeah I didn’t chase that problem down because I wasn’t getting paid- his argument was he bought the heater from me and it didn’t work so I went out to fix the water heater and found out there wasn’t any gas I called and told him I told him he should contact San Diego Gas and Electric and have them come out. Could’ve been a leak. Without getting into the house and testing the stove it’s hard to know if the problem was at the meter which I’ve seen before. So yeah, pretty much wasted my time. I still don’t know cause he never got back to me. Appreciate you watching and commenting as always. Yeah it’s been just a bunch of bad circuit boards lately. I mean I can’t even tell you how many people have contacted me looking for a replacement circuit boards I’m all out Pretty much screwed now!
