LOL. My *ABSOLUTE* favorite part was when your Dad (who always seems a bit care-worn) started singing my favorite Christmas song, "It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas". Put a big, fat smile on my face - on a day when I REALLY needed a smile. Loved it!!! Tell your Dad, "Thank you"! 🎄😄 🎄

You are such a hard worker!! Thanks for feeding us! Also, your Papa is so funny singing. It was so GREAT!! Thanks for taking all the EXTRA time it takes to drag us along with your farming. We know it takes so much longer to do that. PLUS all the editing that you have to do too!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

We are ranchers and farmers from Australia, I try not to miss your videos. You sure have been pumping them out recently. Regarding the weather, keep giving us a idea of your temperatures as its most interesting, we never get anything like what you experience in winter.I have been to Saskatchewan in August, stayed at a little town called Borden in their Hotel for a wedding, very unique Hotel, designed like the wild west.

Jon. Thank you for the video of your winter farm family life. Plus, it is great to see your happy, jolly Dutch farm father. He sounds like he has a good singing voice. When I see the temperatures and amount of snow you get, I have a lot of respect for how much work you have to take care of the cows. 💪your father has to take part in a singing competition.😂 Since your father is in a good mood, it's best to ask him now for a bunk sweep. 😂😂

In Minnesota farmers use a blade that attaches to the wheel loader, 15 -20 feet wide that works well when pushing snow.

We think Wednesday is going to be our first SNOW day this season, but no great dump yet. They usually warn us about 3 to 4 days out. Stay warm out there !!!

Maybe a metal or rubber cowling over the auger drive belts? We had a 12' angled plow blade that we just drove the loader bucket into and hooked 2 chains - way faster to hook/unhook and plow - just keep going round and round - not much back and forth. Good Luck up there Jan!

With the huge variety of jobs you all have to do on the farm. It is a miracle that you remember what you need to for everything. No shame in not remembering the ratchet size needed for the tensioner bolt. Assuming this is the same for all of your augers. Could you mark or etch the bolt size onto a lower part of the auger to reference prior to going up? Working harder also means a heighten risk of injury.
@waynerichardson930Ай бұрын
Have you ever considered adding ridged insulation to the overhead doors? Very surprised they didn't provide a shield on those augers to keep the belts dry.

Suggestion : get a gate for mineral auger on the auger so you can restrict the volume in the winter so it doesn't have to push a full auger. Isn't winter on the prairies a challenge compared to other parts of the world.

Last week in central Ontario we had +5 Celsius. Right now at 4:30 on Nov 30 it is 0.0 degrees celsius. Our weather event in the last 48 hours is an entire meter of snow. For the folks who use Imperial, that means 39 inches. Last week we had none. Power outages, major accidents on highways, it is a mess. Wow what a difference from last week.
