A couple of vids back there were a lot of comments about used parts. This one hits me at the same spot. Especially in today's times, there are a lot of people just barely treading water. Yes, the truck needed much more than this. But until the frame gets a lot worse, this will get them to their job and that is critical when buying another vehicle is not possible. No, I'm not in favor of death traps on the same roads as me. But sometimes you just have to fix the things that would have you walking.

I live in a fairly affluent area of New Jersey just outside of NYC. Lots of 'high-end' cars around here...Benz, BMW, Audi, Maserati, Tesla etc. Recently I've noticed a lot more beaters on the road. Cars with body damage, rust holes. and cars that are making sad sounds as they drive down the road. I can only imagine what's happening in fly-over Murica.
@Gr8thxAlot

@@MrSloika I'm in a lower income area of the city, and I see the same cars getting more and more damaged and beat up every day. There's high end cars here too. I ride my bike instead of driving as much as I can.

Good video!! I had an Explorer that was rusted up in the frame like this Chevy. I had to repair it on the cheap. Leaf springs shackles all gone with rust. I always wondered why they did not make the parts to handle rust better, then as I got older I learned why, they do not want the vehicles to last beyond a few years so you have to get a new vehicle. What a shame for customers, hope yours last a while. My grandfather sprayed all his used motor oil all over the underbelly of his cars, they lasted for decades and rust was never an issue.

Last year we probably got somewhere around 50+ feet of snow and somewhere around 5 BILLION potholes. Two windshield replacements from the cinders... ie .22 caliber laser guided rocks that always cause more than 3/4" of damage 💔. Luckily no salt for the most part here in the 4 corners area. 11:00 Guys been making videos for almost 10 years and he's still camera shy 😂 I know, I know, it's probably different when you have someone filming you, but still kinda funny 😁

Love the banter between you two. And yep old rust bucket there. It still got the SMA standard repair of doing it right. Just a little extra bit was cut off.😅

As long as the customer pays the bill. Why should it really be that much of a big deal ?? I've done the same thing lots of times but I understand the mechanic is providing me the service I asked him for, WHEN I NEEDED IT. sometimes you just don't have money to buy another car !! And you still got to go to work, the doctor's office, drop off the kids to school, get groceries AND so on.........

That Chevy rust isn't too bad. I didn't see any holes in the frame or broken welds. It's actually pretty good for a 16 year old car.

Aside from the upper arms, this is surface rust. Non-structural.

Eric, you saved the customer one hour of labor by using a hole saw on the fender liner. It's just too bad that the "Cheby" has about 12 mins of life left in it! 😜

I would recommend to the owner that he not fill the fuel tank with gas. Might be a waste.

I can't believe the fella didn't notice when the first one broke, only once they were both gone. I used to have one of these SUVs. When I had one of these arms break on mine, it scared the crap out of me cuz of how it would pull to once side when i'd give it gas lol. Another great video, Eric!

400 plus comments in the first few hours!! We'll all attest that the O's know how to bring it!! You guys have to be just as good if not better off camera! You represent what a good loving relationship is supposed to be like! Hopefully the youngsters are taking note and following what the O family is putting down! Our society needs more of this instead of the other crap there being brainwashed watching!! By the way great video of knocking out the control arms on the old chevy with the big 4.2l 🤙🤙

It's 33F and we've already had a good amount of snow here in Interior Alaska. I drive a 1991 Explorer and it barely has a surface layer of rust on it. Amazing to see new cars rust out so quickly.
