My daughter and i are living in Anchorage Alaska, she’s receiving chemotherapy treatments here. It’s getting incredibly cold here and we have a house less population. Even in the winter, some will sleep outside. It’s really sad but many have bad addiction’s to drugs and drinking. Alaska is not a good place to be house less. I was homeless for half of my life due to bipolar disorder and substance abuse. By the grace of god and treatment I've been clean and sober for 11 years and no longer homeless. Just want to tell you how many people helped me along the way with food etc.. and just kind words make a difference. Your helping more than you know michael. Thank you so much and god bless you

I truly wished I had the funds to get started doing the same in my area. Unfortunately, I'm currently experiencing a difficult time in my life, due to health reasons, that my family and I may become homeless again very soon. There are people who ended up homeless and they are not always addicted to any substances. It is the result of unforeseen circumstances, financial straits, and greedy landlords. I hope things work out for you and stay positive. There are good decent people in this world who care.

My family and I WERE homeless and living on the street ourselves about 4 years ago, when we lost our house and it's looking like we will be homeless AGAIN, really soon. You probably don't even understand, just how very frustrating and stressful it is for me. Because I've worked so hard for us to have actual beds to sleep in at night, instead of laying on blankets on the floor and for us to be able to rent the roof over our heads, even though it's old and worn down. But most of all, not being able to do anything at all, that would help us hold onto what little we do have, other than to keep hanging onto my faith and pray for a miracle. However, I do appreciate your caring words of encouragement, thank you for helping me hang onto my hope.

I've always felt some compassion for the homeless, but lately with Michael's videos you see how these unfortunate people really live. No one should have to struggle like this. I want to volunteer downtown and try to help out as much as I can. I'm a tough old bird, but it really hurts when I see women by themselves and totally vulnerable. I recently spent a night in a shelter due to buying the wrong date bus tickets in Montana, it broke my heart to see the 200+ bunk beds almost all filled up, I felt so bad using a bed that someone else could have used. I will say the reason I stayed in the shelter is because I had no money after buying the ticket home which was 1600 miles away, it was about 20 degrees and I would have slept outside but I definitely wouldn't have woken up. You are doing some amazing work around your city, I hope to do the same as you one day.
