Hi Jacqueline, the composition and concept for Rivers was created by EPICA's bass player Rob van der Loo, with lyrics written by Simone inspired by Rob's concept

Hi Jacqueline! Great reaction to one of the best bands today, Epica is on another level, with time they get more and more better!... Other similar songs that I could recommend are: Once Upon a Nightmare (the Omega Alive version), Tides of Time doesn't have an official video but there is a very nice lyric video made by a fan, I don't remember if you already reacted to one of their singles most beautiful "Unleashed" the live version of Retrospect with the orchestra is wonderful. Let's hope to see another reaction to Epica on your channel soon! By the way, Mark Jansen (gutturals and guitar) is a great follower of Wim Hof, during this European tour he was getting into the snow and icy waters, his practice appears in the Vlogs that Epica uploads to KZbin !

Beautiful reaction! You should also checkout the acapella version of this song from their Omega Alive livestream show. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZjIeKedn96Eoqs. There are so many great videos of this song , from the original music video to the Live in Chile (amazing camera work on that one). My favorite version is from their 20th anniversary show in Tillberg (saw it live via livestream). Starts with the acapella version and then brings in the band for the heavier ending. Next Epica, Unleashed live from their 10th anniversary Retrospect show or Sirens- of Blood and Water music video from The Alchemy Project EP.
