The only problem I see is think about a movie or a podcast is already a 1-1.5 gb so 8 hours it could work but think about the people that have to sit there and go through 10,000 officers that’s 80,000 hours of footage they have to go through in one day to make sure that they don’t commit crimes so you see why that would be a problem
@jeepliving1
@jeepliving1 2 ай бұрын
@@Dale-ju4nb These issues are in no way an appropriate justification for turning off the camera. It's not necessary to routinely review every minute of footage on a daily basis. The footage is significant only when there is a subsequent complaint or suspicion following an interaction. The recordings should be cataloged by date and held in storage for a determined length of time so as to be available if the possibility arises that there is pertinent data on the recording.
@richardbutkis

@@Dale-ju4nb they upload them everyday but no one is sitting there watching the whole recorded shift every single day for every single officer. Edit: those videos only get watched when citizens request them. And if IT isn't retarded, then it's filed by officer and date so it'd be easy to pull up.

It's because the "update" is always the result of a case winding it's way through the slow and ineffective courts and it always takes MULTIPLE years, sometimes 4-5 years or more. This is why I feel a national licensing board needs to be established for cops. That follows you anywhere you go. So you can’t department hop when the heat gets too hot. Add to that require officers to hold insurance like doctors do. So that tax payers don’t have to foot the bill. Do anything to major to to many minor issues you loses your licenses or your insurance becomes cost prohibitive to be a cop. It would quickly weed out the bad ones.
@deanwiley6746
@deanwiley6746 2 ай бұрын
@SRH and @dave: The fired ones usually don't get hired someone else. Fired (for cause) police have to redo all of their training/certifications. Which leads to... all three (at the time of this 'episode' ;) comment @dave @SRH and @zazuch: They end up - usually *high* up and butt-kissed - in Private Security. @z: your idea of Federal/National "Licensing" (even if only a PUBLIC database) is awesome. The ones that are "allowed to resign" and move to other departments often go without the *new* department knowing they should not hire them. As far as cops paying 'their own' insurance: They would just demand 10x the cost of it in tax payer salaries. Good thread!

The phone judge is the perfect example of someone who is drunk on power. When you’ve been given as much power as a judge for so long, your brain genuinely starts to forget common decency whilst preaching to everyone else about it. It takes being taken down SEVERAL pegs for them to snap out of it and remember who they were before the power. However, there are always the cases of people being born Å

Ain’t it crazy that minimum wage jobs hold workers more liable for their actions than the government does for a judge, ironically, whose entire job description is holding people liable. 1 disrespectful customer interaction gets you fired at many retail stores, but apparently you can steal, abuse power, and threaten others as a judge with only a small fine while keeping your job. Oh, and you wouldn’t have multiple years before getting reprimanded at a retail job. Very cool

@@accountname9872 Wait...what? So I respond to somebody who says they were fired for "chewing out" a customer, and I'm the one that treats people like "human garbage". How the heck does that make sense 😅 Not takeling responsibility for your own attitude, and placing blame on others is not going to get ya very far in life. Having an employee an employee yelling at customers is not a good look for a store. Whether you think the customer deserves it or not. There are better, more professional ways of dealing with situation then getting mad back at the customer and escalating things, and even turning away other customers. I wouldn't want my employees yelling at my customers either. It's not about just the one customer but the others as well, and in the end it is a business and the employer needs to be able to pay his employees and having employees and no customers does not really work very well. Please have a good day.

Providing updates is so satisfying. I'm an avid fan and previously after watching through your catalogue, I'm often wondering what happened afterwards to so many cases. It's fun to hear the cases that have rent-free headspace randomly without warning.

Your update vids are very important to assure that there is accountability. Often there is some immediate uproar and then things get overshadowed. With these updates the police chiefs and attorney generals will learn that they cannot just ride out the storm and wait for the public eye to wander elsewhere. They will have to take action.

My wife was assistant to the chief of police for Orangeburg public safety when that incident happened. I will say they swiftly terminated that officer same day when they they found out he kicked the man in the head. Chief Adams stepped down soon after. He was a good man imo and tried his best to do the right thing. Besides this there were so many other incidents that happened while my wife worked under the chief you wouldnt believe out of such a small police department. I'm so glad my wife took another job. They still beg her to come back but ain't no way she would ever go back.

@@strawberrylotlizard I didnt say everyone did it right. I said the cheif did what he could and as fast as possible. Despite what the video says, the officer was terminated same day. There is a reason the cheif soon after stepped down. He also released the body cam right away despite the city attorney saying they were not legally required too. I feel like doing this brought accountability much faster releasing that to the public. One man doesnt run the show.
