Hi, I did my medical a couple of weeks ago. Turns out I'm colorblind so now I need to go to the Belgian Airforce medical doctor (even tho I'm Dutch) to get a specific test to determine my level of defficiency... So I hope I will pass that test. And also my blood results were to high so if I pass that extra color-sight test I will need to get my blood tapped again.... And then hopefully start my training. I just want to say that you are doing an awesome job at documenting your life as a pilot and I do really enjoy watching your videos. Please keep going like this! Cheers!

I've been paying $150 for my medicals in North Carolina. Glad that I have another 15 years to go before I need to get two per year

Who do you go to? I've been to Dr. Kramer in Frisco. I still don't have my medical 18 months later, but that's certainly not his fault - he's been very helpful and very nice

Dr Griffin in Roanoke. He's a little interesting sometimes. I've never had an issue

Do medical visits in general make you stressed or is it just the AME?

$100 is cheap I want to try the those weight loss drugs I use the show up early and drink water method to chill out for the BP reading.

I just paid $150 for my first medical (student pilot) but did 1st class to make sure I could at 42yo. He said he did the ekg for free. Paid with my HSA card. But need to pay more to go to my regular doc to get another ekg so the ame can be told that my arrhythmia is “resolved”. 🙄

Some people pay $478? 🙄 That's insane. For trucking I knew a guy in Kentucky who was a chiropractor who did DoT physicals for $40 cash out the door. A few months ago in upstate NY I paid $135😶🌫

Wait, the old color vision test? Do you have to pass the Ishihara plates (I call it the dippin dots test) to get 1st class??? Can you request other methods from your AME?

I don’t know anything other than the old test sorry.

Do the airlines have any policies in place if you temporarily lose your medical? I got DQ’ed for 3 months, thankfully still got partial pay.
@geekontheflightdeck3 ай бұрын
I have insurance for that. There are noon flying jobs you can apply for temporarily
