Layovers at each stop, I was delirious from lack of sleep when I got there then had to take a 4 hour bus ride to Kunsan, I never needed a shower so much as that trip. MIA-STL-LAX-ANC-OKO-OSN on a Flying Tigers chartered 747 where I was for 1 year.

@@geekontheflightdeckFinal question, you were talking about fuel planning. Does Kirkland’s dispatch always legally file alternates for 777 ETOPS flights? Or does dispatch simply follow the good ole’ 1-2-3 rule as specified by FAR 91.169? I mean I always find it beneficial in the GA world to not file alternates unless I am legally obligated to.

I have connected in Incheon many times when flying to Asia but have never left the airport, Also, I thought you fly the Great Circle Route west because you are going against the predominate winds and that is the shortest distance. Coming back east it is faster to fly with the wind even though the distance is longer.
@AZHankG2 сағат бұрын
I was also laughing when you said you would sleep to 6 AM after arriving. My experience is similiar that you are lucky to sleep 4-5 hours and then your body clock tells you it the middle of the day even if it is 3, 4 in the morning in Korea.

No idea if this is a ridiculous question or not, how do you manage a sleep schedule with having to get up early, mostly when you did short/medium haul flights with multiple legs
@geekontheflightdeck19 сағат бұрын
Not ridiculous. Learned skill. I know how to make myself tired. If I know I’ll need to sleep I manage my caffeine and carbohydrate intake. Even on long haul flights I get 1-2 multi hour long breaks to take a nap which does wonders. There’s still the feeling of being tired that is just there. Nothing like landing 15 hours after takeoff. Several thoughts: I’ve been to South Korea in a December-yes cold. Colder up on the DMZ. South Koreans really appreciate the USA and know we’re the only thing keeping them from communism.
