Jake E. Lee, my absolue favourite of the 80s guys. his iconic tone and playing are somewhat underappreciated in my homecountry germany. i heard he was shot not far from his apartment about a week ago and is in the hospital. i wish him well and all the best. this amp is an absolute beast. if the cost factor wasn't so prohibitive, i'd already own the 20watt top with the accompanying 1x12" friedman cab. love that classic hot rodded marshall tone.

This was a fantastic video! Sounded great and your demo was very thorough covering all the bases. One of the reasons I always love your channel is that when you demo gear it sounds real and you can tell it hasn't been altered and it still always sound great. It's nice to have honesty and still be inspired by the tones and playing in the demo. Some other channels do the "real" sounding demos but then it either sounds bad and makes me not want it or it sounds great but I don't trust what I'm hearing. Sorry for rambling but I mean every word. 🤘🤘🤘

All of the Friedman amps sound great, have an older BE-100, it slays . Have a Marshall Jubilee reissue and a JVM 410H. The JEL sounds smashing

If the freeman amp has an fx loop, I do think that the freeman amps would do amazing with a traynor amp. I never seen you do a video with a traynor demo, would you try using the freeman amp with a traynor fx loop.

4:27 The bright switches aren’t directly Jose related. They’re just bright switches. The pull gain, though, may be engaging a diode or two, which would be Jose style. Hate to be a sucker for a product placement, but digging that Gibson hat. 😊

I don't think the JEL actually has a true Jose mod. I'm pretty sure all the mods are post gain knob whereas a Jose mod is a pre-knob gain stage. The BE actually has a jose mod if I am no mistaken

I sold a 5150 to get the JEL 20. Nothing like an EVH. It has a full plexi channel too so great cleans which u can’t get on a 5150. A fully maxed out JEL sounds like a 5150 on the blue channel with gain at 3-4. You can boost it into EVH territory tho for sure.
