Great reaction! Your passion for Jinjer earns you my sub. Thanks for representing! I'm surprised you don't dig Vortex, after the way you reacted to Kafka. Similarly structured songs in many ways. Vortex may well be my favorite Jinjer song. Both songs start softly, with introspective guitar and killer drum grooves heavy with ghost notes on snare, and build to screaming crescendos. Neither song has a traditional verse/chorus rock song structure (though Kafka comes a bit closer). Both are closer to classical compositions. My strong hunch is Vlad wrote them both. They both flow through from start to finish, and by the end Tatiana is breathing fire. They're both frantic bangers by the end. Vortex has a section highlighting Tatiana's yin/yang capability to switch instantly from clean to scream and back again (check out the live version from the great Audiotree "From Nothing" video for a perfect example of her incredible technique). And the ending is one of the great Jinjer moments for me. The undefined meter of the "whirl, spin, swirl" part, with that deathly growl--and the drop into the black hole, with one of Tatiana's deepest and most gutteral growls ever, ending with that RRRR sound I love so much. I'd be interested in your second take on Vortex. For me it might be THE quintessential Jinjer song.

I don't remember if I said it in the Video, but with Vortex it's a case of 'hearing a Song once and never listening to it again'. and 'personal preference'. I can't recall what I didn't like about the Song, I just know that I really disliked it when I heard it the first time. But it's been 3 years now and obviously my musical taste has changed. Ever since then I became way more open to other music (Which is also sowcased with the K-Pop Songs we have on the channel for example) Because of that I planned to do a ReListening Series on that channel were I cover up Albums from Bands I already listened to, just to update myself. And Jinjer will be in that series aswell. While I think differently of what THE quintessential Jinjer Song is, I'm glad that the Video has brought in some Jinjer Fans to the channel, since they are one of the most influential Bands for my music Journey.

They have an extraordinary amount of amazing Songs! They became popular for their Song "Pisces", which is famous for having a lot of people doing reaction videos to it 😄 But also Songs like "Teacher Teacher", "Pit of Consciousness", "I Speak Astronomy", "Who is Gonna Be the One" or even newer Songs like "Disclosure!" are a few of the many examples why I love them so much after all these years. They almost always deliver and improve!

@@TheNora_ofCatsthat's awesome! Welcome to Jinjer! They took me by storm when I discovered them two years ago. They quickly became my favorite band since Rush retired. I was fortunate to see them live just two weeks after discovering them. They're one of the best live bands I've ever seen--and I'm a professional musician who's been going to concerts for 50 years. The rabbit hole is deep, and I love every song. You're in for a glorious treat my friend. Enjoy!

I’m so hyped for the new album, I agree with you partly regarding Wallflowers “feeling” when it first came out. It is a grower though, after a year and half is when I actually could get into the album and while I know that is not that convenient sometimes but when you can actually digest the music on that album you can actually appreciate the true musicianship behind it. My favorite song is I speak astronomy it has one of the best outros I have ever heard in my entire life.

I'm honestly glad for you that it grew on you. I still can't really get used to it, though "Pearls And Swine" and "Disclosure" are full on bangers! But I have always loved this band so much and I'm glad I'm able to enjoy them again as much as I used to. And OMG yes, "I Speak Astronomy" is incredible. This Song is one of the many reasons why "King Of Everything" is one of my all time favourite albums!

I don't remember if I said it in the reaction, but I heard both of these Songs already and liked them, which is why I'm really looking forward to the Album even more. With Kafka I'm now back on track with knowing every Song from Jinjers discography 😄

@@energeticmusicreactions Awesome let's just wait for the album next year and hopefully there is no new songs released by then. "Fast Draw" is out there in the wild there though they've been playing it live during their shows. 👀

Lyrically, "Kafka" is incredibly literate & a heavy lift for sure. It is a meditation on the absurdity, alienation, and existential struggles of life, drawing heavily on Kafkaesque themes and existentialist philosophy. The song explores the fractured nature of identity, using references to The Metamorphosis to question whether we wake as our true selves or as something distorted by societal expectations and internal conflict. It confronts the inevitability of suffering and the futility of seeking purpose in an indifferent world, while paradoxically finding solace in art and self-expression. The imagery of ink bleeding into the void reflects a creative defiance-using art to impose meaning on meaninglessness, even when creation itself is painful. The song critiques the oppressive forces of judgment, rejection, and exclusion, channeling the Kafkaesque dread of being trapped in a system that refuses to understand or accept the individual. Despite this, it suggests an embrace of life’s absurdity, laughing in the face of despair and asserting existence through persistence. Ultimately, "Kafka" is an ode to resilience, reflecting the tension between despair and hope in the human condition.

I really love ''When Two Empires Collide''. I quite often recommend JinJer - ''When Two Empires Collide'', (Fan Made Video) | Jinjer Polska, but the recommendation is rarely if ever accepted. I haven't thought about "Dip A Sail" in ages. I do love me a good anti-capitalist rant. Great song.

Tatiana Shmayluk on “Kafka”: “Being an artist is sometimes beautiful but most of the time it’s brutal… as our art is dissected word for word and ripped apart note by note, we‘re expected to be on point all-the-time … and when we aren’t, we are scandalized. A true artist is vulnerable but the crowd is most often plagued with vultures who pick at every single move you make. It’s a slippery slope when music means the world to us but how quickly praise turns into prosecution… We are all Kings and Queens for a day but most of the time it feels like a Kafka novel for a lifetime. It‘s exciting but surreal and absurd at the same time"

It's interesting how different can be people's preferences about one band. Mine are pretty much opposite of yours, lol. King of Everything is my least favorite Jinjer album. I just don't really like its' vibe with majority of the songs being straight-forward uptempo and agressive. Although, I enjoy some, like I Speak Astronomy, Sit Stay Roll Over and Beggar's Dance. Pisces is also a great hit song. I prefer their melodic, intricate and progressive stile, that's why Wallflowers is my favorite record. And I think it really needs to grow on you, but once it does - you never look back. Imo, songs from this album are the most replayable of their discography. I've listened to this album A LOT during these 3 years and probably heard these songs hundreds of times - they just don't get old for me. Micro and Macro I also adore, but KoE songs burnt out the fastest for me, even those I was in love at first. I also think the new album sounds promising, but in my case it's because I get strong Wallflowers vibes from the songs we heard. My guess it'll be like Wallflowers 2, but more agressive. As for the song I like the most... It's a tough question. I think I lean towards Home Back - it just hits hard. I remember having really strong first impression on this song, it was fucking with my brain really bad for quite some time.

I think that really showcases the beauty of music! There is something for everyone out there, even if you don't have similar taste. I'm really glad that you enjoyed Wallflowers, because that's something I wish for me 😄 Maybe I'll do a full album reaction to Wallflowers, to give it like a "second try" because I really haven't listen to it after it came out and my musical taste has really expanded over that time.

I'm with you on Home Back, and also on Wallflowers. For me their music has matured over time, especially since Vlad came on board. He writes a lot of the music, and his classical influences bring so much to the songwriting. Many of their songs are like classical concertos (concerti?) or etudes. Often with no standard verse/chorus structure. I love the way they're evolving.
