Correction - The F-14 is not actually the one from "Top Gun" the movie, and is instead from the Top Gun training academy in California.
@johnosbourn43122 жыл бұрын
Actually, Topgun was never a training academy, instead, it used to be a Post Graduate style of school meant to teach air combat tactics, and today, it's a department within the Naval Air Warfare Development Center, based at NAS Fallon. The original location was NAS Miramar, untill '96, when Miramar was handed back to the Marines, and the Naval Fighter Weapons School moved to Fallon, and merged with the Naval Strike Warfare Center, to create NSAWC, or Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center. Also, this school has departments for the Navy's E-2 community; known as Top Dome, the EA-18G Growler community; known as HAVOC, and the MH-60S Knight Hawk community, as well.

Awsome video! I always thought the F-35 was called the lightning II because of the P-38 lightning similar to the A-10 being the thunderbolt II just like the P-47 thunderbolt.

The red colored pod on your Topgun F-14 is an Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation Pod, used to simulate missile shots, while flying over an Air Combat Range, and the dark blue colored Sidewinder is a CATM-9M training missile, which has the seeker head, but, no guidance system, no warhead, and no rocket motor. Also, what you were calling the guidance system seen on the lower left fuselage, is actually the fairing for the M61 Vulcan gun.

This was a very well put unbox/rreview video, and I enjoyed it! A question: Why go for such small models? I do understand that, as you mentioned the price is quite low, but even on that level they seem a bit to small. I mean on that scale there are many compromises, the manufactures had to make, in terms of assembly and overall details.
@Aviation18 Жыл бұрын
Thank you and personally I think this scale strikes a very good balance between detail and size. They’re actually really well put together models with a surprising amount of detail for being so small, and that’s what I like, small with a lot of detail

Now, your fourth, and fifth Super Hornets represent VFA-2 "BOUNTY HUNTERS", Callsign: BULLET, and VFA-103 "JOLLY ROGERS", Callsign: VICTORY, and both are CAG Bird Super Hornets, because of the Modex, or side number, and the full color squadron markings.
