Dad bought son a Jeep. Son broke the Jeep and didn't want dad to find out. Son found out the owner had to pick up the Jeep. Son had friend call to pretend to be a shipper/transporter to try to pick it up without dad finding out the Jeep was broken and towed. Finally when none of his silliness worked he called dad and dad made the necessary arrangements to get the Jeep released. Sons friend with the flatbed trailer that had a broken wench was the shipper/transport guy. Actually pretty comical although it wasted a lot of your time.

I'd say you're spot on. Teenagers will come up with all sorts of overly complicated plans or stories to hide stuff from their parents. And that is usually what gets them caught.

So you break down and leave your car in a private parking lot and not say anything to anyone. Then you sell it to someone who has never seen the car. Then you have a "transporter" to pick it up. The whole thing sounds fishy to me. Glad you guys protect yourself. My father-in-law owned a wrecking yard and towing business and the amount of paperwork was a night mear. Stay safe.😏😊

Absolutely right to be suspicious with this one. If I was you I wouldn't have just accepted a photo of the Dad's ID at that point without additonal noterising or maybe a photo with the Dad holding his photo-id and a piece of paper with the date and something like "for Everything Autos" written on it.

Four people with interest in the car. The owner (who won’t come down according to the transportation guy), the son (whose sold it), the new owner (whose on a plane) and the transportation guy (who can’t get any paperwork that’s needed - but would prefer not to). What a mess! They understand the right way to get it but don’t want to. Even when faced with situations like this you go out of your way to help - loading onto their trailer. When you told him “ it will drive if you put the transfer case in drive it’s just a broke linkage” you could literally see him react like HUHHHHH!! That was the absolute best part of this video🤣 I doubt the did but that should have been at least a $50 spot to load that on their trailer. yeah, I worked for a tow company for a month, Im good with a flat bed, I've owned a flat bed when I use to scrap vehicle's, once scrap prices dropped, I got a towing job, used their flat bed, their gear, once day, I got a call to remove a truck from a residence thats been there for over a week, I got it all hooked up and ready to haul it away, I had two guys run up on me with guns pointed at me, Someone called the police thankfully, but man, thats the last time I'll ever work for a tow company. People don't understand how much you or anyone in the towing industry risk their lives in many different ways just to make a living. Its a hard stressful job.
