Are these recent trips up in the mountains? I used to live up in Winter Park for a year actually closest to Grand by working at a huge YMCA that has a light XC Skiing course. We had a winter Olympics that year so we had a few people who were training for the Olympics who worked out there. I had never seen so many people who could ski for hours at a time. I was more of a mountain biker. The cool part was as soon as it stopped being muddy in the spring we would go for long hikes on the property on our days off. Sometimes we would have 20-30 people going up a mountain in the dark.
