Yeah buddy ! Congrats🎉 this shares a lot with my 1991 Sambar. Things at your local Orileys auto parts place like Air and Oil filters fit both our rides. A 2015 WRX rear shifter bushing should work too on the cable. I found that switching my Transmission fluid to the harder to find Redline or Motul 75W 80 clears up a lot of the synchro slop. Thanks for taking the initiative to further help the education system😂

Hey Buck, great find! I would add Volk bronze TE37s first, then tackle the body work. Perhaps some houndstooth pattern Recaros (like the old school Golf VW's). Keep it close to stock as possible, but improve where necessary.

You can buy adapters for a Weber 32/36 DGEV carburetor to fit on these. Also since its a 4x100 lug pattern a Honda Civic vx wheel looks really nice and it keeps it 13".

The correct answer is you can never ever ever have too many Subaru's. I had a 1994 Justy for many years as a daily, I LOVED that thing. And miss the crap out of it. And yeah you have to double clutch those Justy's because the synchros are basically non existent :P :D

This was like an episode of @TheDetailGeek . I wouldn't go race-inspired on this one, since it will never be a performance car, unless you do an engine swap and pretty much build a new car on that chassis. Lean into what it was designed to be. I'd go for a all-road capable cute little daily driver, inspired by the little "postie" motorcycles people use in rural parts of Europe and Australia. Some smallish rally wheels and tires (just wide enough to be flush), refresh the oem suspension and motor bits, maybe a CAI and exhaust just for fun, and a modest window tint. Party inside with reupholstered seats, maybe in a sealskin or other water-resistant material so you can hose it out after having the dogs in the car, and an aftermarket steering wheel (old-skool Momo?). Definitely a nice paint job, but not "show car nice" because this car is meant to be used without too much fuss. I'm hoping to see this in its final form at the 2025 Subiefests!

Bucky, with a car like this, OEM+ isn't enough. You need to go crazy. Convert to a RWD bias with a 2015+ WRX 6-speed tranny swap, attached to an EZ36 from a Tribeca. (Good luck finding radiator space!) Give the interior some love with some 80s Recaro seats (plaid, of course) and custom door cards. You see those integrated wheel arches? Maybe you should cut right at that body line to fit larger wheels and tires. Finish it off with a fresh white paint job and the "Jazz" design from the side of the 90s water cups.
