Bought my 2013 Terrain Raptor in Jan/2024 from Austin Texas. 121k miles for $23.5k. Then drove it 19hrs and 1400 miles straight back to SoCal 😂. Was amazing. Best truck ever

@ yep. Zero issues with smog. I did have to do a bearing overhaul on the rear diff for $1,500 shortly after but hey $25k still ain’t bad lol. 1 owner who bought cash and never ever offroaded it. His daily local driver. Seat covers since day one so they look brand new. I’m happy haha

@@pgmurray76 thanks. I got really lucky and took some risks I do not recommend. A friend told me about it. The owner was moving to Taiwan in a week and needed it gone. We still talk so he can check on it lol. I researched him and the truck. I booked a fight and took $23.5k cash with me 🤣. Met his wife and kids and thank God it all worked out. I just had that feeling that it was RIGHT lol. Drove home through some sketchy Texas backroads all night. Slept at a truck stop where it was 25 out. Then drove 15hrs home. Was the best road trip ever alone 🤣

@@xschm1dx 25! That sounds like north New Mexico. When I went cross country twice with my sister in 1997, the windows on her car were ice when the sunlight appeared. It was after a long stretch of driving at night and we were falling asleep driving, so we found a random driving stop and slept for 3 or 4 hours. Cannot remember if the engine was running. Probably not. My face steamed up the window and the droplets turned to a sheet of ice. My current car is from Long Beach. One way ticket on New Year's Day, walked 2 miles north on a road perpendicular to the airport, saw the car, and gave the man $9,999 cash and used a card to pay the fees and taxes. Drove back as far south as possible back to the east.

For both Vinny and Zach, the volume issue on the radio can be fixed with an idatalink Maestro and a new head unit. Sounds like a lot but it's a much easier task these days. We rarely see these kinds of vehicles over in NZ, but the one I have seen had the exact same pitiful volume output, but it seems to be a radio issue, not an issue with the speakers installed. Once they have a reasonable amount of power going to them from a modern head unit, they sing pretty well and make for a great value add too because most of the time these trucks don't come with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and going aftermarket opens that up to being an option and the Maestro allows you to keep all factory settings and climate control, as well as getting more information like tyre pressure monitoring and gauges as well! The Maestro gear is super easy to install as well, you program the module that runs it all, then use their plug and play harnesses and it does all the hard work for you. Their website has some great resources if you want to know more but I can always lend a hand if you need!

Don't have experience with Raptors but pretty sure that's a Ford issue in general or at least a few models. Had a few rentals I couldn't use the Bluetooth for the phone because the volume maxed out at a whisper. Since the engine isn't so loud (yet) that you can't think, Zach probably needs the stereo to massively overboard.

@@schwamforfreedom While I can admire for the time Ford were doing well to have the system they did installed in those vehicles and other models sold around the world, the simple fact is that really they've not aged well. Best exemplified by even your Bluetooth experience, it's symptomatic of a setup that's just dated and not fit for purpose in a modern vehicle anymore. We've seen plenty of other models from Ford suffer from volume issues, but not all are attributed to the same root cause. The only thing the rentals are good for is being as Clarkson so eloquently put "the fastest cars in the world"

The 6.2 is a sweet motor, hard on gas but our f350 at work drives around all day with 3500lbs in the bed, doesn’t struggle one bit up the 30-35% grade we have on site

I got my 2014 F150 Raptor three years ago and I love it. I just need to start restoring it. Its runs great the paint isn't that good on the hood. I have been slowly upgrading all the old parts. One weird thing is my back camera displays on the opposite sides. I have tried everything to fix and probably just going to after market.

I have a 2013 raptor. The stereo has settings to adjust the volume according to road noise or how fast your going. Also mine has the factory subwoofer upgrade under the rear seat. It's one of the best stock sounding stereo systems I have had. Try going through the settings. It also has bass ,treble etc.

Hey, I pretty sure you’re truck has a recall for transmission in 14 f-150’s, if trans ever gives issues, a recall that program the PCM and possibly replace the valve body in the transmission. Thought I’d share that way to save some money

The shocks get rebuilt internally. Just because there’s rust doesn’t mean they aren’t rebuilt. Some shops will take the rust off but doesn’t make a difference

Ram 2500 and 3500 with the cummins hold good value and cheaper that a Raptor. Plus if you take it to CJC they can deal your suspension in then it will eat Raptors. But a Raptor is a great truck

You should add EMS/First Responders to your nonprofit's list of people you help. Unlike every veteran we don't have the government helping us and don't have any kind of assistance both while we do the job, and when we retire unless you were forward thinking enough to invest in some kind of retirement separate to what pennies they give you. I always hear about "veterans" being helped and it eats me up. "veterans" have government assistance for the entirety of whenever they're in the military, and when you're out they still have access to things civilians don't. They already have a lot of help. Meanwhile I know EMS personnel that have ended it all because there was no hope and no help. Hell, even a "military veteran" who only ever flew a desk for 8 years gets discounts and constant accolades for "fighting for the country" while guys who have to try to save a dismembered baby, or keep someone alive who ultimately loses the battle get nothing. I don't want anything for me, I don't want to be thanked, I don't want any kudos. I want my people helped and to have a spotlight on them. With the same breath you thank the military for "serving their country" you should thank first responders who ACTUALLY serve their country EVERY DAY.

But tbh I don't see him keeping it stock engine wise but at the same time I can see him just leaving it alone for a daily driver. Sometimes just having a bone stock daily is nice after having nothing but loud and modified cars. I had an Infiniti sedan that I did a coupe mid pipe and muffler delete on which sounded decent for a VQ but wasnt super loud I then got rid of that and got into a 2013 Accord bone stock. The accord being dead quiet and smooth cruiser was so nice. Of course having a nice exhaust note is sick but sometimes it's not especially with a baby lol

@Berm_Blaster you don't by chance live in gilbert az cuz my neighbor had the same ride and the got rid of his infiniti and picked up a honda accord round the same year.. as far as growing up I'm no different I have a dodge dakota with a stroker 390 kit in it with not a super loud exhaust, it used to have to flowmaster super 10's but nowdays i have flowmaster delta 44's in it cuz the 10's were just too loud for daily driving so put the 44's on it cuz I use the truck to compete in db drags and other sound off competitions and even though i have multiple layers of sound deadenerto keep wanted sound in and the unwanted sound out but no matter what the droning id get was always a problem esp cuz I have to havr the engine running to turn the 3 altenators to keep the battery's charged up so I do know what that life is about but the whine of a supercharger is something that people can deal with cuz its not ear piercing loud and if it cm be got on the cheap side then that would be hard to pass up
