Ah yes. Sunflower. The ship in general could work out but it has a lot of down sides to it like the fact they were both involved in a murder- but there are also plus sides to the ship aswell. In general this ship is the most controversial ship ever. It’s almost like asking would you rather cats or dogs. It’s gonna be slit pretty evenly. Some people think it could work out because it would help with recovery.. but it is also not gonna be very smooth to move into from obvious trauma between the two. But past that. Everyone can agree the best ship is Sunny x therapy AND Basil x therapy

I started the game shipping Sunflower, but going through it actually stopped. I think that's the only time I've ever _stopped_ shipping something before. I feel if they were to have a romantic relationship, it would need to be after years of therapy and time apart to mature and heal. They were technically apart those 4 years, but neither moved on and were just stuck due to Mari's death. So yeah, I personally don't ship it, but I could see it working in the *very* far future for the both of them.

My two favorite ships are suntan and sunflower, and i know that in cuteness, its awesome so have basil and sunny together, but its where you begin to think about it that the real problems comes up. Even then, B tier is still pretty good for it, you kinda made me see a few facts about it that i didnt really pick up on before. My problem with ships like sunflower I can't really see the chemistry between the two. One, Basil is, obviously, Sunny's best friend, and I couldn't see Sunny ever actually giving up on Aubrey, seeing as how the Sunny/Aubrey in Headspace gets stronger after he actually sees her in the real world. Although I have a feeling the group will take a long time to get together after the good ending, which is where essentially all the ships take place, Sunny and Basil will undoubtedly be kept apart by therapists, due to the incredibly unhealthy bond they both have together. This is further backed up by the fact that the hallucinations happen the most severe and intense when around each other, as proven by the bathroom scene and the bedroom scene, I believe according to simple medical logic, doctors and the like would keep them apart. I can see unrequited love between Basil and Sunny, where Basil loves Sunny to the point to keep Mari's death a secret to keep him with him. Truthfully, I never was able to see any ships being canonical due to all the terrible things that happened, however, I believe Sunny, post-truth, wouldn't be able to refuse any of his friends due to him not wanting to upset any of them further.

The (edit: latter) especially kinda relies on taking his words during literal psychotic episodes (e.g. the bathroom scene and fight with Sunny) at face value. Sure, he acts entitled to Sunny and lambasts him for moving; his verbal assaults are toxic, but they're also coming from a 16-year-old who, in that moment, is desperately clinging to life?? Idk, is it really fair to extrapolate his usual day-to-day temperament from that? Or how he truly views the situation; in that confrontation, his view on reality is clearly skewed. And like, obv that doesn't mean him having a relationship with Sunny wouldn't be strained. Mental health is a bitch. Pray he gets on antipsychotics post-game because jfc. Sunflower for me *can* just be cute fluff but I'm also a fuckin sap for "love prevailing." Yes, there's a battle to be had. For sure, there's someone better out there for both of them. heres my opinion on sunflower: The thing is, basil needs that support, and any change may make him snap in half, but the thing is that the fight they had in the bathroom.. He was in a psychotic breakdown, and Sunny didnt know how to react so he fought with him. This is mostly because in headspace, sunny/omori deals with their problems is to fight back. He didnt want to hurt basil, he was doing what omori would do.
