Ever since I knew they were a thing I have wanted to go to a sky lantern festival, and I finally had the opportunity to go. It truly is one of the most magical experiences of my life.
Every year on the 15th day of the lunar calendar new year thousands gather across all of Taiwan for festivals. Join us to get a closer look at this incredible festival.

The lantern festivals are so beautiful. I wonder, however, what they do with the lanterns when they come back down? Like who cleans that stuff up? lol

Oh yea I forgot to mention lol after the festival they have a massive cleanup that takes place. I believe voluntary, mostly old people, but I could be wrong. Yea no damage to the environment. Taiwanese are big on preserving the environment and they are very sensitive to things like that.

found your channel through the ralston boulder video. you should visit Hualien next time if you ever visit taiwan again! Taroko national park is a must-see (you can also camp there) easy hike and magnificent views. Qixingtan beach (four-eight highland) and Ch'ing-shui cliff as well! Nice video!

I went to hualien! Fell in love with that place, but I didn't camp out unfortunately. I'm not sure the camping situation in Taiwan. I'd love to do a trip around the country and camp
