What uthman did was that he set up a committee to compile the Quran in the order that it was intended and in the correct Ahruf. The Quran was originally revealed in seven different ahrufs (meanings modes of recitation) and one of them was later made the correct one. The prophet (S.A.W) with the help of Gabriel (jibrell AS) who was repeating the copy (in heaven) had every Ramadan recited the whole Quran in it's correct order in front of the people, this order being the one uthman (RA) wanted to preserve but, the many scribes that wrote down the verses of the Quran in the time of the prophet (S.A.W)'s time did so in chronological order and in their own tribe's hurf. Furthermore, Manu of the scribes used their copies of the Quran as personal notebooks for recording all matters of religion. So, they would record the Hadith of the prophet (S.A.W) explaining one of the verses in the margins or a clarification of a certain ruling etc. they were within their rights to do so, but as uthman (RA) realized, that individual writers may know what part is the Hadith and what part is the Quran in their books but any other person would confuse the two it was also realized an experienced that the people were mistaking the old ahrufs as the real Quran. Also most written copies weren't even full copies of the Quran. This could have led to many problems or confusions later on regarding the Quran And this also why many of the scribes were unwilling to give up their copy to uthman (RA). it was not because they distrusted uthman (RA)'s copy as some people try to claim, but it was because those notebooks were their life's work recording all their relevant tafsir and Hadith and religious matters so, uthman (RA) insisted that all the other copies be burned instead of going though the lengthy laborious process of revising the copies to be in the correct order and hurf and crossing out all the footnotes and such to avoid later confusion. But the key thing to note is that there was no 'hidden' verse in any of those copies that was not in uthman (RA)s copy. In conclusion, the copy compiled by uthman (RA) is exactly how the copy in heaven is. Uthman (RA) changed nothing.

Uthman bin Affan was the son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad and one of the rightly guided Caliphs. Prophet himself is reported to have said: *"...hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold fast to them..." [Riyad-as-Salihin, Hadith **#701**]* Everyone submitted to Uthman's decision regarding the Qur'an without question. Meanwhile, the New Testament was compiled and canonized by Church Fathers who had nothing to do with Jesus or his apostles.

Is that why his companions disagreed on the number of Surahs? How did a goat or was it a sheep eat a verse? If there are 10 valid qiraat or readings why are there 30+ versions with clear differences such as Chapter 37:12? If its all the same book why does Morocco ban versions?

1) The Qur’an was standardized because it was received in pieces and there were disagreements on chapter. After Uthman codex, these disagreements were gone. This doesn’t imply the Qur’an was changed. 2) The narrations of the hadith for the Surah that have the goat eating a piece is a weak Hadith and it is considered rejected. You can google that 3) There are 10 recognized qirah with 2 narrators each. These versions have been around since the time of the prophet and are valid. Note the text of the Quran doesn’t change despite the difference in pronunciation. This is the nature of language. I don’t know where you got 30. 4) Morocco banning certain version doesn’t not make those version invalid. It’s Morocco’s attempt at avoiding sectarianism or so they say.

@@OnTheEdgex23 First of all it was during the Uthman standardisation which was brought about by the confusion of the 7 arufs as narrated in Bukhari, there was confusion about the number of Surahs between Muhammeds companions. Secondly proto Islam was also confusing as different areas of the land where Islam was present has different practices hence the War of Zakat. The hadith Sunan Ibn Majah 1944 is Hasan which is not weak. Even then there are other hadiths which are sahih. 10 qiraat so can you list them all? I say over 30 because they were brought in person to Speakers Corner in London showing the clear textual differences. Chapter 37:12, lets go with one says They and one says You which even then isnt correct its I and you even sheikhs ive talked to admit this, its still a totally different meaning in each verse so which one is it? So Morocco is banning these qurans which are supposedly all the same to prevent sectarianism which is the division of religion based on theology. How is that possible if the Qurans are the same? 2:57 is it he gives mercy or we give mercy? Whenever you bring up these differences to knowledgable Muslims and scholars who come to Speakers Corner they cannot answer besides saying its a dialect difference which doesnt explain a total meaning change.

The only basis for verification of the Qur'an is to assume that Mohammed was actually a prophet. The same can be said about christianity and the bible. You can only believe it is frm God if you believe in tha God. So what does human verification have to do with it? I can literally verify how the literal original Sanscrit Hindu scriptures and say that they were not changed from their creation. That does not validate the authenticity of the religion. The holy book you believe in is based on the God you believe in. So this should not he a talking point for which religion is believed to be correct. What would rather be debated is the differences in the actual religions. Then we can have an actual discussion rather than everyone assuming they know so much about the other's religion when they have studied it to critique it rather than learn about it
