A few more "carpentering" supplies, this time some charred White Mahogany (Eucalyptus acmenoides). Nearly finished the first cord... only one tree to go. I dont know what crazy dog was dreaming about, but it looked tasty.

Kurt, I can’t have this. You’re starting to make me look bad! Great axemanship and editing. Now you know what I go through to make a vid. It takes 3-4x longer than just doing it. But I enjoy it. Looks like you do too. Can’t wait to see what you do next.
@kurts643 жыл бұрын
Haha I think your safe. It does take a while, and that's without all the graphics, voiceovers, thumbnails, music that you do. Must take forever! The leather sheath vid that I lost took about 8 hrs to film and edit... for a 1 hour sheath build. Hope you like the next one...should be up in a few days!

That's some fine looking firewood. It's some australian hardwood?
@kurts643 жыл бұрын
G'day mate thanks for watching! Yes all a mix of Aussie hardwood, ironbark, spotted gum, grey gum, blackbutt, bloodwood and brushbox. Are you doing the challenge?

@@kurts64 Yeah, I'm trying to aim for one rick atleast. You guys got much more interesting tree species down there though when compared to our spruce and birch. Actually always had a dream of visiting Australia, so friggin' interesting place in general.

@@samulikilpinen1233 I've seen documentaries about Finland, looks like a beautiful, wild place. Are you moving into spring about now? It's early autumn here. I'm northern NSW, only a few hrs from QLD. It classed as warm- temperate. We've just had about 3 months of flooding rain, but only 18 months ago were in drought with massive bushfires! Have you started chopping yet?

G'day Kurt, I'm looking for a solid knive as companion for woody works and I was curious about yours, do you mind telling me what it is ?
@kurts642 жыл бұрын
G'day mate, mine's a home made job, it's a full tang 80crv2 blade with local ironbark scales. I'd offer to make you one but my grinders been dodgy for a few months and I haven't been able to replace it. For something similar off the shelf, you could go for a Becker BK16, an LT Wright genesis, Condor mini hudson bay or Selknam, Terava Jaakaripuuko (check my spelling on that one!) or something from Pathfinder Knife Shop. Keep me posted how you go!
@skinnybearthedogs26542 жыл бұрын

@@kurts64 Pretty much what happened :D. I got myself a simple RAT-1 for EDC in the pocket and the Condor Selknam for when I go in the woods. So far I love them both. I think I'll try to replace the rat 1 plastic handle with a custom one in wood from our stack.
@kurts642 жыл бұрын
@@skinnybearthedogs2654 that's awesome! The Rat 1 is an absolute classic and the Condor would be pretty much bombproof! Good choices and I'd love to see some custom scales on the rat. Sweet!😁👍

G'day Joey, i was half done by end of january but since then we've had crazy rain and floods, sometimes for weeks on end. Over 3 metres of rain since January. Was aiming to be finished by end of Feb, but the weather dragged it out a bit. Gunna start a second cord soon! Thanks mate
