Here in Oklahoma I run 2 deep brood Chambers then an excluder and my hives are enormous. I only have 6 hives currently but get at least 3 medium sometimes 4 supers of honey per hive. I also rotate my deeps at the beginning of spring the bottoms are almost empty and the hive is mostly up in the top chamber. The 2 deeps also give them plenty of honey over winter without supplemental feeding so I'm killing multiple birds with one stone. Anyway this works for me in my area. Love your videos keep them coming.

Good stuff. I would like to hear more about the nuance of single brood chamber over wintering, difference in colont size in spring, buildup rates ,etc.

The only flaw I can see in your reasoning is that more brood (and later, workers) means more mouths to feed, so if the colony is bigger than neededd for the current flow, they will be consuming honey (or nectar) instead of providing a surplus. That is very dependent on how well adapted your bees are to the local conditions.

most are there for the production of honey and don't consider improvement of the colony and queen .

I don’t use excluders. I have 2 but just don’t like em.
