Part of the early success of the game was the fact the game was constantly being tinkered with behind the scenes. Stuff like the space Vietnam planet being lost completely were huge moments that galvanized the player base and contributed to positive word of mouth. So part of what he says is absolutely true.

And if your formula is to spend $200 million each on 20 live service games, and only 2 of them are a success, that's what those in accounting call "rocketing yourself straight to the poor house". So yes, Sony can make a live service game here and there, but they need to focus on games with smaller budgets and the potential for big sales, especially in the long-run. Astro Bot only cost between $60 million to $70 million to make, and it's already projected to be profitable. And when Astro Bot 2 comes around, there will be more hype around that game, which will translate to even more sales of the first Astro Bot game. And that's how Sony needs to play this. They need to focus on smaller budgets and long-term profits rather than trying to swing for the fences every time and giving themselves greater sales barriers to overcome.

Sony only released two live service games this year. One was a failure and the other was big success. But online discourse makes it seem like they are constantly releasing them and they are failing. They only need to get one or two that are at the level of a Fortnite or WoW to justify spending time on developing some. Im not saying all this to defend live service games. I dont play them except Marvel Snap and a little bit of Fortnite from time to time, but I can see why they would want to focus on those types of games to make money.

I had no idea Jet Set Radio wasn't available for purchase anymore. I bought it on Steam ages ago, and I guess I just assumed it was still up on there, but nope. But hey, if they got on there once surely they can do it again. Personally though, I'd much prefer a remaster/remake of the original that adjusts some gameplay stuff. I wonder if physical copies of gta6 will have a map and manual like the traditional releases of rockstar games. Also will there be a disc with the game on it or just an install file where you jave to download the game?

Probably going to be like Red Dead 2 imagine it'll be like the 2 Installation Discs and as for the map I suspect that will be part of a pre-order bundle unfortunately as that was the case with Red Dead 2 as well. They wanna get their extra money for pre-order DLC and steelbooks.

Red dead 2 came with map and manual on release on the standard edition. I think they removed them later on with reprints. Red dead remastered came with nothing. I hope they don't cheap out with physical copies

Looking back at every game that has come out that is successful and every game that isn't successful I've come to the simple realization that I think we all moved way too quickly through each console generation. Each generation should have had more time and better standards for making games with better practices from each company to make sure that the games were actually good.

Regarding voice control in majoras mask, I've always thought that the Switch 2's gimmick was going to be voice control. They created such an insane problem to be solved with botw and totk, where you're constantly pausing the game to change outfits or weapons. Imagine youre playing totk, and you press that new C button and you just say "switch to: wing suit", and it switches without needing to pause the game. "Switch to" -> "Switch 2" And if that's not the gimmick, it really should have been lol

I'm a very simple man. If I see a Spawn Wave update, I click into it and assume it will get a "like". If it's (yet another) unsubstantiated rumor, it gets a downvote. I don't expect the channel to change anything about it. I still think it's a great channel, but I know some creators appreciate the extra insight to why a video gets the likes\dislikes they do.

The problem with Nvidias last and probably also next release was: they announced and sold a tiny batch for their msrp. The partners didn't have any margin to compete with the msrp and had to raise prices. So expect to pay at least 1.2x what the msrp is.

I’d definitely wait until close to launch to get your MicroSD express cards. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the factors in the launch delay is that MicroSD express options from Sandisk and Samsung are late. Both were major contributors and backers of the express standard (even Samsung claiming the spec came out of work with a third party partner, which could, for all we know, be Nintendo themselves, who needed it to happen for Switch 2). Both companies announced that larger sizes would be launching by the end of the year, and that has not happened. With Switch 2 games being presumably larger, Nintendo probably wouldn’t want to launch the Switch 2 into a market where users can’t get at least a 512GB or 1TB option. Even if 256GB would be good for you, the launch of larger sizes would drive down prices for smaller sizes. Wait as long as you can to get the card, you will get larger options and better prices.

I've 3080Ti myself. Maybe RTX 5080 will be my next GPU, we'll see if it's necessary when tests come out in 2160p (4K) gameplay with at least over 100fps everything maxed out on games that need some horsepower for eyecandy.

For the SD cards I think regular ones can be used for exiting switch games. But switch 2 will need to newer one. Xbox series and PlayStation 5 are like this. Only current gen require the SSD.

Here's a scary thought. All of the original switch's physical games probably won't be able to take advantage of faster load times since it's limited by the cartridge, vs digital games that will load faster if on the system. RIP to switch collectors
