Another try Balthier from FFT war of the lions. From the rerelease Balthier is a character who rivals Cid from the original release. His class is combination of Engineer and thief with better steal chance, coming equipped with some good equipment and one of the best guns. The true prize is his skill barrage which launches 4 attacks at 1/4 the strength of a normal attack making it essentially double sword. And since barrage is a technique and not a support skill you can use it with any weapon so Balthier can snipe down the opposition long before they get in range to attack the party.

Seth is the most broken, but Sacred Stones is far easier of a game. Yeah you can solo the game with Seth very easily, but you by no means need to do so. Marcus on the other hand is basically required in the early game on the highest difficulties.

Some things I have to add is that Markus does not have good growths and he can't solo the entire game. Markus is great and can be useful throughout the game but he starts struggling to do meaningful damage on late game bosses and isn't very durable either

@@Gavid69 I treat all Jagens the same way, except for Oifey, Seth and Titania (and Sigurd, of course): I strip them of their weapons, then employ the "nude wall" tactic as I just send them in. Enemies will gang on the unarmed target, who will simply not get hurt. Meanwhile, all the units with better growths will enjoy free hits, even Rebecca and Wil can enjoy going gung ho, protected by the nude wall, though I prefer Rebecca because slow archers suck.

Glenn is absolutely busted in Chrono Cross. His crit rate, besides Serge with the Mastermune, might be the highest in the game especially once he gets the dual Einlanzers.

Good Gods I miss Phantasy Star 4. It was kind of amazing- 1, 2 and 3 each were pretty flawed and broken, but together were the setup for something incredible in 4.

I would like to add Basílio of Metaphor Refantazio. At first this character doesn't seem like a big deal, mainly because there are already other characters focused on physical damage. However, when Basilio reaches the form of the Royal Berserker archetype, his moveset becomes insane, mainly because of Wanton Destruction. This move deals extreme damage from the Strike modality and at same time causes weakness in the opponent against of this same category, in other words, Basilio creates a loop where his blows will always cause weakness, making the group to gain extra turns, that is, it does not matter if the opponent has resistance to his type of attack, Basílio simply "creates" that weakness while attacking. This is added to several passives increasing his attack and Strike damage, especially the skill Charge that doubles the damage of the next attack, that makes Basílio almost unstoppable and he can easily take down several bosses.

GAMEPLAY SPOILER WARNING (no story spoilers) I will also add that when using royal berserker, Basilio gets a passive skill that makes it so when he crits he doesn't consume turn icons, and if you strategically let your party die except for him (you can do it by not healing and using patrecarm on basilio, a skill that makes him resist a fatal attack at 1 hp once) then give Basilio some passive skills that boost his crit rate and damage output whenever he is low on health, and finally use either one of his base skills or, more effectively, Gold rush which has a high crit rate and consumes money instead of mp, since you are more likely to have a lot of money at that point in the game, you will have basically a character that can crit an infinite amount of times consecutively without giving the enemy any chance to do anything. It may take a few minutes of spamming the same button over and over but eventually you will win, unless you are unlucky. In case your chain of crits stops you can then use another turn icon to revive Heismay, who will have the royal thief equipped so that the enemy you are facing is very likely to miss him and therefore lose all turn icons because of a passive skill of Heismay. (in order to have the additional turn icon to revive Heismay when basilio misses you will need the main character with the prince archetype equipped and with the Reverent Crown, which gives an additional turn icon each turn regardless of how many party members are alive.

TG Cid from Final Fantasy Tactics. He has the best stat growth, his class is a combination of 3 already pretty strong classes, and comes to party equipped with Excalibur, a Knight Sword with auto haste on it. Even better is he's not locked behind a sidequest or anything he gets dropped in you lap at about the 2/3 mark of the game as part of the main story

Yuna needs to be on this list someday- i know FFX is a game designed to break over your knee after you put enough time into it- but yuna is broken straight outa the box- SHE CASTS A FREE MEAT SHIELD AND JUST GETS MORE AND ALL OF THEM CAN WIN FIGHTS ON THEIR OWN AND 2 OF THEM ARE JUST AS BOSS AS TIDUS AND WAKKA WITH THEIR ULTS.

Valefor with energy blast can already do like 1.8k damage with his limit break right off the jump and his limit is very easy to get up...... very easy to overkill bosses with.. it is OPED.

@@jaymieblue1844 youre not even considering his skill the all targeting wind attack only he gets- also has a delay attack effect- and that early in the game every boss is too slow to counteract this midgame skill. some bosses are slow enough to get locked in a permanent skill spam.

Yuna is balanced and not overpowered. Her Overdrive is strong, but she is primarily limited to healing for most of the game, and her summons are often the only way to deal damage during this time. Additionally, you cannot summon them for certain bosses. Tidus/Wakka have OP limit breaks / overdrives that make them able to hit for more than any other character. She is by far not comparable to Cid from Final Fantasy Tactics.

@Jfray252 thats cause youre playing her sub optimally. And shes only barred from summons during fights with seymore cause hes a summoner. She outright replaces lulu with magic dmg and makes everyone redundant once you start getting everyone max stated the party is forever her tidus and wakka with rikku subbing in for mix. Shes OP and id say more so then thundergod cid. Just cause shes in your party forever.

​@@36inc Tidus and Wakka are still better than her in the endgame. Everyone outclasses Lulu in the endgame because magic becomes completely overshadowed by physical attacks. If you max out the sphere grid, all your characters will have the same abilities and stats. The only thing that makes them different is their overdrive (and potentially their weapon/armor). Rikku is considered better than Yuna , because Mix is OP, and Yuna doesn't offer anything unique besides aeons primarily used as shields. However both are interchangable with maxed stat. Clearly, you haven’t played FFT if you’re claiming she’s more overpowered than Thunder God Cid. He’s so powerful he can one-shot all boss within the first minute.

Would want to mention Neptune from the original version of the first Hyperdimension Neptunia (the one that came out on PS3) with her easily spammable ult skill. Was so busted that the devs even made references to that in other games. You'd think it was intentional.

Dykstra in EC: Hundred Heroes is broken for a different reason. His Defense ability gives 2x Attack to the entire party every turn, so having the 5 best attackers with max weapon level deals insane damage to even late game enemies

*Tales of Legendia* - Jay and Senel Many moves in ToL knockdown, which is huge for Senel since he’s the only character that can hit downed enemies due to his throw artes. He’s the least damaging Iron Eres user at the end, but his lockdown is unmatched. Jay, otoh has by far the highest damage output in the game. He’s very squishy and is the second hardest character to use (next to Moses), but he deletes anything in no time flat. *Vanguard Bandits* - Anyone with Turbulence Turbulence by itself breaks the game. Anyone with Turbulence is basically untouchable for the rest of the game once learned.

Kaguya is somehow still insanely broken in Endless Frontier 2. She starts with Hinegumi Koromo which is an absurdly consistent attack(which makes getting optimal damage stupid easy), high hitcount, inflicts Blind(affects a lot of sub-boss), and she somehow gets the earliest AOE attack out of everyone. I think in 2, Haken/Reiji/the new MC and Axel are all nuts, but Kaguya is still insane An obscure one from DS was Luminous Arc 1 Leon. He's the designated Warrior of the game thats largely filled with Mages and hybrids so he largely have the highest Attack, top tier weapon class, but the game's erratic power curve somehow make him the best Mage in the early game(despite being a low magic warrior). He also have insanely stacked kit like 50% Attack buff long before its alvaialble for everyone else at like 20%, and his finisher which he gets almost 10 levels faster than everyone else have something dumb like 300% Damage multiplier when normally you'd be lucky to have 150% multiplier Etrian Odyssey 5 probably can have a spot from every class lol. That game is seriously broken(like 400% chance to stun lock boss for 5 turns broken)

Peco from 'Breath Of Fire III' You get this guy as a Lvl1 character and if you are willing you can take a detour to one of the earliest trainers in the game; Bunyan. If you then level up Peco under his wings he gets absolutely absurd amounts of HP and STR stat-growths that easily make Garr look like paperweight and rival some of Ryu's strongest dragon-forms endgame.

If you play with Morgan and her husband, you'll have an invincible unit. I only use Morgan and her husband to defeat Priam's entire army, and they've never managed to lower her health bar below half. It's simply ridiculous!

One Saner will make you attack before the enemy probably 95% of the time I didn't know either about stacking saner but other buffs don't stack. If you want to defend against physical atk it is either Deban or Warla or Blessing If you want to defend against magic atk it is only with 1 barrier. You don't lose your buff if you die and brought back except for Saner (that's a buff that disappears if you die or if you sleep)

if you're going to make more of these maybe you should check pamela from mana khemia, she's a ghost that auto revives after being downed automatically after a couple of turns, is inmune to physical attacks and has by far the highest damage in the game if built correctly. And my fav by far.

For Eiyuden, Momo is quite strong, though they are only number 2. Leanne is even more broken, hitting bigger numbers, not limited by spells or fire resistance. For Fire Emblem 7, Marcus is good, but not broken. You'd want Seth from FE8 for that. Fe7, Canas brings the cheese there. Unicorn Overlord, there is.....well, a LOT to unpack there. She's a good character as you get her early on, but calling her broken seems a bit too much.

Rune is just as OP in PS4. Huge amount of TP and skills, equip two shields and he tanks everything thanks to them and his high Mental stat. Also, though not a character, but Phaleg is broken in Persona 1 since he nullifies everything magical that is not dark, and has a level 2 heal all for only 7 SP.

What is funny I think is most people will have a gut instinct as to how to use Rune : blast enemies with powerful magic Efess and Legeon. Rika seem to be here for support with her ability to heal, to buff your atk and buff your defense and buff your speed but most people don't realise how S tier she is. Speed runners understand that very well and have Wren-the-tank (or other characters) do the healing via potions and star mist. (As a kid I probably spent half the boss fights healing or buffing with Rika, I didn't understand her awesomeness either at the time)

Etrian Odyssey Nexus' Hero class is utterly busted. And the devs probably knew, considering you get to fight one yourself and it's probably the hardest thing the story throws at you. Also, since SRW kinda got mentioned: GaoGaiGar... in basically every title it's in other than Alpha 3. Like the only thing stopping it in J from soloing stuff is that it does need a refueler available. High DPS and very good tanking abilities it doesn't even need half the time because for a Super robot it is impressively dodgy, too. In general, balancing in Super Robot Wars tends to be more a suggestion than anything else and many units are very broken.

Funny enough Hero wasnt actually the most egregious class in that game. Gunner utterly humiliates everyone in terns of damage, Shogun is one of the most egregiously comical balancing ever, and Sov is the god claas. Heros definitely in the top 5-6 though depending on how you rate Landschnekt(the class every broken class revolves around), Protector(the most powerful move in terms of raw numbers in EO history), and Harb(broken bs enabler 3)

Disagree about Phantasy Star 4's dynamic party being a bad thing. It makes the world feel grander and the characters feel both stronger and more grounded that they have other shit they need to do or other ways that they have to contribute to your goal outside of your party.

I love how PSIV was done and the team dynamic. If you had given me the choice, I would have kept that but I wish I could do a couple of extra dungeons with the fifth selected party member to enjoy a bit more the game and their talent. Hahn leaves the group low level, he comes back with all these awesome techniques and skills, can do combos left and right with everybody yet we just have one final dungeon to enjoy? The same goes for most picks.

All the characters you can choose from are basically one of the other mains slightly retooled. To me, since Raja is the no-brainer pick as he is the best healer in the game.

@@stefanswiss3760 The Edge is very underwhelming. It looks cool, but has little substance aside from the kick-ass last boss. It would have been sick if you got to explore twisted versions of areas from past games and fight remixes of bosses like Dr. Mad, Motherbrain, and Neifirst. Considering that Square had done the Lunar Core and the Cleft of Dimensions between the release of Phantasy Star 3 and Phantasy Star 4, the Edge brings very little to the table. (Ironically though, Square's best final dungeon, Ultimecia's Castle, is part of Final Fantasy 8, by far the weakest of the ATB games and nowhere near as good as Phantasy Star 4).

I gotta say that Yuffie is also the best stagger machine in rebirth. The devs are only gonna make her more busted in part 3 likely and Tifa is probably gonna be super busted in part 3. For Daybreak picking Rissette for shields makes sense. Arts are also extremely broken with impede stacking working for arts now allowing art delay builds. Given XCX DE is coming soon elma with ghostfactory, irina instakilling with servant sacrifice most things and Lin being a dps machine on top of insane tank are some that come to mind. There is also Gogmagog in SMTV Vengeance, Strohl in Metaphor. Seth in Sacred Stones singlehandedly makes sacred stones really boring to play imo which makes him an easy pick for most broken FE characters. In star ocean just any healer usually breaks the game.
