technically it wasn't cancelled but they have been oddly silent and the last time this series had a gap like this they rebranded it from The kids of Degrassi Street to Degrassi Jr High to Degrassi High and then to Degrassi The Next Generation then to Degrassi and finally to Degrassi Next Class. I think there's going to be another rebrand of the show but I don't know when or if it will come back

that's what got me. a non-self harmer wouldn't get the significance of this but someone who's self-harming would never do it that publicly where anyone could walk in and catch them in the act. they would always be more secretive about it if out in public.
