Another tractor-trailer hits notorious Glenville bridge

The notorious Glenridge Road bridge in Glenville was hit by another tractor-trailer, late Tuesday evening. Despite recent construction to avoid trucks hitting the bridge, it may be a problem they just can’t fix, Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle said.

If it seems so easy for the railway to raise the track why can’t they lower the road. The track/bridge was there first.

This is ridiculous, many warning signs, a truck turn-around, flashing lights, and an LED board have been installed and guess what? Nothing happened, they are practically useless.

Is there any updates to this story, as I have just seen a video from the next month and seen what I proposed in that video is exactly what this gentleman has proposed to hopefully mitigate this issue with trucks striking the bridge. I am glad he has the same train of thought as a trucker to hopefully help us avoid this major issue in their town. Me as a driver will say, the fly by night trucking schools are to blame usually, because drivers sometimes get trained in 1 week of book and school work for the CTD course & then they go riding with a trainer for several weeks & they turn em loose & just do not get that strict training or even, if English is not their primary language & somehow pass their CTD course & get turned loose on the highways. This is I have seen 1st hand in the 17 years of trucking I have done. I had to take CTD for 8hrs day, 5 days a week for 9wks, just a lot of information that needs to be taught and they trying to turn em out as quickly as they can. 😨🤦
