Just a quick question: what do you think 'international police' is ?
@000mud00023 сағат бұрын
@autohmae aren't they apart of the space defense force?
@autohmae22 сағат бұрын
@@000mud000 let me give you a hint: an international police does not exist. The only thing that exists are some UN organized things, like the "blue helmets" military or the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). But they don't really have any authority to do anything. Countries decide their own laws, outsiders can't decide for them. Countries can sign treaties (like universal human rights) they are often put into laws in their own respective countries, but if a government decided to not obey their own laws (especially at war time or when for example a dictator is in power), nobody can really stop them legally. Other countries can put force on them like decide to stop trading with them, creating a huge economic problem for that country, etc.

And yet people will still go off on actually accredited and ethical zoos/sanctuaries for "abusing animals" when places like these exist and are super common
@mattymerr7012 күн бұрын
And then they don't get pissed off at humane societies who are all not very humane and euthanize so many animals
@ruriva49312 күн бұрын
Idk man, it may not be this bad but I think the whales is seaworld is pretty deserving of criticism
@tai.karo.052 күн бұрын
@ruriva4931 Yeah, I'm not talking about places that legitimately deserve criticism. People who don't understand anything about animals and zoology will go off on workers who spend hours (and also don't get paid very well) working in ethical zoos to support animals that literally could not survive without those institutions. Instead of, you know, criticising the places that actually abuse animals.
@alexanderbasler6259Күн бұрын
I think this is a strawman position. Every zoo-critic I've ever known criticizes truly fucked up places and "ethical" zoos both, the latter just with far more nuance. It's silly to look at horrible outliers of the zoo industry and use them to distract from legitimate criticism of zoos in general.
@tai.karo.05Күн бұрын
@alexanderbasler6259 That's not what a straw man argument is. I'm simply saying that there are too many people who don't know anything about zoology and why zoos/conservation efforts are necessary who will go off on organizations who are doing good work for no other reason than "wahhhh animals in enclosures bad >:(". They don't do anything to actually help the issue such as supporting legislation to protect wild spaces, or as I said, directing their anger to the institutions that are ACTUALLY abusing animals for profit. I don't have any problem with people who know what they're talking about rightfully criticizing questionable organizations (like how someone else brought up the whales in Seaworld), I have a problem with uneducated people screaming at and campaigning for the dissolution of institutions run by professionals that protect animals. And a lot of these people do this by spreading straight up misinformation (i.e. the idea of "zoochosis") or by making ridiculous suggestions that would never work and prove they have no idea what they're talking about (i.e. "just release all the animals!!!"). Of course I have no problem with people who are actually educated on the matter giving nuanced criticism.

What you said is animal abuse/mistreatment in most countries, you could have recorded it and sent it to the police or whatever authorities hande animal cases. Also there is an reason why some animals aren't meant to be pets or trained it can cause vary bad damage to humans and said species, humans don't get to see the real animal for example how aggressive they are in the wild and second is trafficking of said animals as pets, food pretty much anything which could lead to the hole species dying. Third i don't like "training animals" for entertainment because most the time it's cruel to the animal for example phsical punishment, not feeding them and so on and some of the things thay are trained for is cruel for the animals.

Seems like Japan has much more relaxed animal abuse laws than in western countries. It probably isn't worth the hassle of going through Japans laws and seeing if they would actually be able to do something or not. With the way Japan is with youtubers and media in general, they could get in trouble for reporting on certain things. As sad as it is, it's just not worth the trouble.
