Amy, i noticed yesterday that you picked up three or four trowelfuls of muck and turned it over on the spot before you actually picked a trowelful up and laid it on the bricks! No wonder your wrist is aching at the end of the day Also I've noticed you hold the trowel down the handle if you get your index finger right up against the knee ( bend ) in the handle, this will put less strain on your wrist and elbow. If it not comfortable doing this, put some insulating tape around the knee of the handle to act as cushioning for you hand. If you cannot put enough force on the brick to push it down, try shaking it when you put it down this will help bed it down to height if the mortar is not too hard.

@@martin2466 no worries I have done a bit with doing a bit of a garden wall using those biggish concrete blocks with the rough fronts. I used to be a heating engineer and sometimes had to build fire openings to fit a copex liner with the closure plate to seal the chimney that was some time ago though. I just have a go of most things some plastering, joinery but not electrics on a big scale just relocating light switches. Turning into a bit of a life story this is haha. I also made that speaker box in my profile pic the video of it is on here too.

Spread a even bed, and push the brick in the middle with equal force, it’s hard to explain but it comes with experience buddy
@liambrennan7833 жыл бұрын
Lay your bricks on a nice bed if your bed is bare minimum they will tip and move easily, the heavier your bed is the more grip your brick well. Get meaning it shouldn't move when you put more course on top, don't put a huge bed on thou but not too thin
