You are my inspiration for my pen collecting. I totally hear you about having pens looking like a family. I'm new to the hobby and am curating pinks, whites/pearly iridescent and gold/rose gold. Oh, and a few demonstrators. I'm such a goofball that when a new pen arrives I have to get them all out and see how and if it flows together. 😂

I don't know if this will help or not, but I also bought a Sailor Pro Gear that I have been wanting. It has the 21K nib in a Medium.. While I really love the looks of the pen, it just writes ok, which was a little disappointing also. These pens are so expensive and so it is a little frustrating. Also, the 21K nibs feel a little "fragile", so I feel like I have to be careful. So for me, going forward, even though these pens are my absolute favorites as far as appearance, the nibs are just so "iffy". I never know if I'm going to like it or not. I have enjoyed the Platinum nibs more. But as far as looks and appearance, the Sailors are stunning and very tempting.

Right? It is disappointing as I/we want to love it. I agree, I very much enjoy my platinum nibs so much more. I think soon, I will send a few of my Sailors to Kirk of Pen Realm to have them adjusted and such :) Ps thanks for being here love!

I’ve smoothed nibs using the rough ring part of the bottom of a coffee mug. Also a brown bag may work. I’ve seen it done here on the tube.

Funny, I have a couple Sailor 21k M nibs that feel like they have a sharp edge on one side or the other! Weird because the 14k ones don't feel that way. I'm actually sending one out this week to a nibmeister (is that the right word?) to smooth it out; I'm too scared to try it myself. 😅I also had the "uh oh, I'm going to want all Pro Gears now" feeling, haha.

Even if it turns out it’s just you getting used to a new pen having a nibmeister check your pen and tune if needed is more than worth in my opinion, especially for a special one like this, to make sure it’s performing the best. Micro mesh without the correct diagnosis can only do so much, if not harm even, if done wrong, in my experience…

Hello and thank you! The two inks you're asking about are from Wearingeul :) Available on Atlas Stationers. I'm not sure what the name of the sample that I got, as I mentioned but it apparently came with the pen... they didn't have a full bottle to sell to me so they gave me a sample of it.
