@@jahterminatedlmao5473 He didn't say the sage as in the great sage of the past but just the sage who planted the great tree. Also I'm sorry but you can't make the connection subaru = flugel just watching the anime. Maybe with the cut content of arc 1 through 4 but even then it's not big enough evidence to actually be sure or even it being more probable compared to other explanations.

It’s actually the opposite there used to be more than 7 deadly sins but some got combined Vanity got put together with Pride and Melancholy together with Sloth

Beatrice has made mentions of a "Mother" in the past and Echidna said she was involved in her birth so you could make the connection there before this ep.

SPOILER FREE EXPLANATION TO SOME QUESTIONS AT THE END :originally there where more sins than 7 i believe there were 9 , vanity , pride , lust , sloth ,melancholy , wrath , envy, gluttony ,greed . both vanity and melancholy got combined later on with pride and sloth respectively . so far in the show we have seen , pandora = vanity , pride= typhon, wrath= minerva , greed = echidna , envy = satella , sloth = sehkmet, gluttony = daphne , and melancholy you guys havnt seen melancholy yet . in terms of flugel it was mentioned in season one as the sage who planted the large tree that the collapsed on the whale , and roswal isnt the same roswal physically , it is one of his ancestors several generations ago .

To be more accurate there were 8 sins then melancholy and vainglory got mixed with sloth and pride and then envy was added.

Yeah Geuse being a Spirit is why he could move from body to body, and could possess Subaru who has a high compatibility with Spirits. That also explains why he calls an elf like Fortuna young.

It would have made sense if it wasn't for the contradictory implications in S1 when Puck referred Geuse's lifespan as if it's that of a human, and Geuse piggybacking on it saying that his shorter lifespan is worth more than Puck's long one because he used it devotedly for the witch

@@MeiTanteixX Hmm, that's a good point. Petelgeuse takes over Subaru's body in the same scene, so it's not like Tappei didn't know yet that he would make him a Spirit. It could refer to the current host body's lifespan, idk.

So far all the anime has said about Flugel is that he planted the giant Tree subaru used to kill the whale. Fun fact: Subaru sees that someone carved the words Flugel was here at the bark of the giant tree, after that Subaru carved the words Subaru was here before taking it down.

As far as I understood, the Witch Factors used by the Witches and the Archbishops are the same. Meaning that Emilia's Trial is taking place after Echidna (and Sekhmet) were devoured 400 years ago, since Regulus and Petelgeuse had the Greed and Sloth Factors until the present days. And you didn't miss it, Vanity hasn't been mentioned in any previous episode. We were led to believe there were only our currently known 7 Deadly Sins.

They did say that, that roswall was a different roswall because it was an ancestor. Roswall is still human so he couldn’t have been there in 400 years ago. Also Pandora is the witch of Vanity, which is the excessiveness in one’s appearance,achievements or anything about themselves. It’s correlated with Pride. In the ep, you see how she was amazed by every thing they did especially geuse’s decision to take the witch Factor

Its not a spoiler but they’re the same the only thing that is a mystery is how he did it. Been heavily implied as he’s always known so much and to viewers its easier to assume it is the same person than somehow not being a the same Roswall yet saying something saying a crazy thing like “…i’ve been insane since i saw those eyes 400 years ago…” its to on the nose that its the same Roswall.

He's self righteous but I like that a lot of his logic makes sense if you took away the ranting and it was under normal circumstances.

In almost all of his speeches he starts by saying things to take into account the feelings of those he rants about but in the end he always comes back to himself and how wrong you are and how much disrespect you have for him and how there needs to be compensation (you being killed)

She's either called vanity or vainglory, either is right but it's a sin which was a part of them originally before it was taken out as part of pride. Pride and envy are the sins which were more modern according to wiki or something, and absorbed some of the old sins like vainglory, so in re zero the fact pride is the last seat left and the witch of envy absorbed all the other 6 witches' sins is referencing that like... Catholic church lore? Nagatsuki likes to include references of all kinds.

Poor Reinhard is the strongest person around but has terrible luck. He almost never manages to be in the right place at the right time to save people from the cult/mabeasts.

Roswaal is human so the person there at the Sanctuary 400 years ago clearly can't be the same person as the Roswaal we have now. They were being literal there saying its an ancestor of a different generation. Beatrice is a spirit that's why she can look the same even after all those years. Petelgeuse's presence in Emilia's past really makes the first season more tragic. Something made him go insane to the point he didn't even recognize her. Only seeing her as a perfect vessel for The Witch of Envy.

@@ricardovelasco7817 apologies I was mistaken in how I phrased it. It IS the same person from 400 years ago, but somehow using the bodies of his descendants. We don't know how, but we can assume that its something to do with soul transferring from Echidna's research.

When she’s using her authority she makes declarations as if she was narrating a story, but if you’re wondering if they used italics or anything for what she says, I’m not positive on that.

I've only seen the anime so this is just my understanding and speculation but Geuse was never the "archbishop of vanity" I'm not sure if there even is one, he was already chosen for sloth but chose not to take the witch factor/authority of sloth (the invisible hands for sloth, all the sins have their own authority). I'm under the impression that all the witches cult members worship the witch of envy not the other six witches, regardless of what archbishop they're under, since Betelgeuse worshipped envy despite having the authority of sloth. The archbishops can probably use the authorities of the other witches because the witch of envy ate them and they have some connection to the witch of envy. The witch of vanity obviously isn't one of the seven witches, my guess is she's some kind of mastermind that runs or has alot of power in the witches cult and is a witch that came after the others or is self proclaimed. I have a feeling envy doesn't have power in the cult and is just a religious figure or pawn

I told her to come to my room when she was done talking to him. She’s super loyal and not a whore, I don’t have to play babysitter. That dude is respectful and don’t put his hands on her, that’s all I ask. She have no idea what ghosting means, that’s trusting in her if anything. Oh yeah I’m spending the weekend at her parents house, pray for me. They put me in the back room. I can’t even sleep in the same room as Soo. @@randomdude2817 I mean an illusion as in Regulus was never there and Geuse never lost his arm, Fortuna and Geuse only imagined it. Idk, it's mostly because I don't see a way to counter reality-rewriting, unless Reinhard or Satella are so OP that they can cancel it somehow (which wouldn't surprise me 😂)

@@naghar9827i think it’ll be badass when Subaru combats her, cause she can rewrite reality but it would seem her rewrites would be overturned/reset by Return By Death Spoilers for the light novel ⚠️⚠️⚠️ I have 2 actual theories of how she loses: Either Subaru and Pandora’s battle will be one where subaru has to manipulate her into rewriting a scenario THINKING it’s in her favor, but she locks herself into something she can’t reset on her own. OR Al’s Authority could be used as an eternal stalemate for Pandora if he traps her in a domain of “Izanami” like repeats forever. Super spoilers And if Subaru, Al, and Flugel are all the same person brought back in different eras, then it would be poetic that Al (an older version of Subaru) would have to be finally sacrificed to remove pandora, while main timeline Subaru can live his happy ever after.
