Honestly, I haven't heard the original in ages, but it's still one of those wonderful classics that last forever. But, my favorite version is now the one by FORRESTELLA. One of the best CROSSOVER vocal groups out there right now. They have a very wide musical range and shine in every genre and style. They are incredibly versatile and creative, none of their top-notch covers are the same. And their originals are on a whole different level.

I'm glad you finally got to my favourite group, Forestella. This is from a long time subscriber. There are many brilliant covers and originals for you to explore, and I'll be watching with you. For your own interest, I'm pretty sure you missed the last sung passage of this song. I'm not mentioning this to be picky, but it has some of my favourite chords in music and is a stunning section of harmony, so you might want to check that bit out privately. That is, if they stick to their main arrangement - I've not seen this particular video before. Try their covers of Nella Fantasia, Parla Piu Piano, Hijo De La Luna, Inner Universe, and Je Suis Malade. Also Bohemian Rhapsody, Shape Of You, Time In A Bottle, Sweet Dreams, Despacito, Legends Never Die, Piano Man, Bad Romance and Champions etc, etc. Their originals are also outstanding but I don't think they fit into your program. But try Apocalypse, Snow Globe and White Night for starters if you're interested.

Their excellent bass singer Ko Woo Rim is currently serving his 18 month compulsory military service which finishes late May this year. The quality of music, both vocally and with the arrangements, is outstanding either way though.

As unfamiliar as I have been with some lately this wasn’t anywhere near that list. Growing up with your parents lists of music you have to pick out the best ones. I’ve mentioned in past we lived way out no where and it was a long ride. Me and my brothers would sing away. Simon and Garfunkel we sang the most. Bye bye love and the boxer Cecelia were among the most sang. We always seemed to enjoy do that, the bus driver seemed to like it too. But as for Forestella definitely new and very nice. Great harmony and unique voices too. Had pork chops tonight, don’t believe we need and of those listed here. Thank you. Take care. 🙏🙏🙏

I have no idea why I missed your reaction a week ago and found out now, but so glad to watch it finally. Forestella is a crossover group from Korea. They were grouped through Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea and they won it. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! As Forestella has sung great covers in various TV shows, better filter on the video to avoid copyright block if you react. Forestella dared to cover the songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-petrochemical research engineer, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible. Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must-check. Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too. Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans. Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it. Another original song Chagall's Dream brings me back the moment of Forestella Festival in my heart, whenever I listen to this I feel like in my lucid dream seeing Forestella altogether in the future in advance. As the latest as a quartet, Forestella sang Stuck in a Maze. Don't miss it! Nowadays just 3 of them are active as trio because their bass Ko WooRim had to enlist for his national duty till 2025 May 19. I think The Show Must Go On in trio is their statement to keep singing even while waiting for their bass. Recently they sang Piano Man with the bass voice as a backing track. Feels like they are still together in the music. They released 1st digital single Apocalypse as trio, the lyrics video reminded me the elements from Save our lives. In their latest Forestella trio concert THE ILLUSIONIST they sang Apocalypse, Earth Song and Nella Fantasia. I thought they put the Earth song for WooRim who represented the Earth in Save our lives. Forestella released their first self-produce original song as trio "And spring" on Christmas day. Kang HyungHo composed it and Bae DooHoon, Kang HyungHo, Cho MinGyu wrote the lyrics.

This song, the Sound of Silence is from old English folk song. Simon&Garfunkel version is the most famous as far I know. There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story. Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, and rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him anymore. BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in the same areas in fact while on my researching English references.. so it could be just for remembering the recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

As for the herbs, there are so many theories about what these signify that I’m not sure we will ever know. I have also heard the herbs had been changed later and that the original herbs were for the preserving of a dead body. I have no idea if it is true, but how amazing would that be!! Thank you again
