In the series ** “3 minutes to understand everything” **
ANOVA is an analysis method which allows us to study the dependence of a continuous quantitative variable on one (or two) qualitative variable(s). The qualitative variables involved are called factors and we can focus on the main effects of these factors as well as the effect of their interaction on the quantitative variable studied. This is called a one-way or two-way ANOVA. The quantitative variable is called the dependent variable and denoted DV; the factors are the independent variables, denoted IV.
