Mine is chambered in 8x57is and came with a german stock. Scope is a Kahles Helia 2,4-12x56. Had one issue with the bolt release. It collapsed most likely due to a brittle fracture. It was replaced by return. So far no issues and I tested it a lot in the meantime. The action is super smooth and can compete with the old Sauer actions. I think it's much better than the crap they sell nowadays since they abandoned their Eckernförde premises. People complain about the mag release. Once you got used to it it turns out to be a feature than a bug. At least for me.

I find it very handy to use the mag release, but one time my glove got caught up in the release, and got stuck. The bolt is super smooth and I have not had one issue at all. I purchased th 5 shot mag, and that would be nice if it came standart with that, like the old model.

Nice rifle. I have the same one in 6.5 Creedmoor with a Zeiss V6 2.5x15x56. A big investment but it will last a lifetime. Probably going to buy the 1771 in .223 in the future. I like the Anschutz rifles.

Hi Nicolai Yes the red dot is in the scope. Brightnes can be turned up and down to fit daylight or darkness.

Excellent rifles from Anschutz, there is no doubt of this. I am looking now for an accurate ( or as accurate as I can be ) bolt action rifle in .22. I enjoy non competitive target shooting out to 50 metres or so. Morten, in your opinion, would you choose a 16 inch / 406 mm barrel , or longer, maybe 20 inches / 508mm?

Hi Reg. In my opinion, but I'm not an expert, I think there is very little difference in velocity and accuracy between a 400 or a 500mm. Barrel, in .22lr. For hunting, and maybe having a moderator on, I would go for the short one. For competition, I would choose the heaviest barrel.

Hi Reg, I shoot an Anschutz .22lr for competition and use it for hunting too. It's a 1416 DHB thumbhole stock. I would agree with Morten, the shorter barrelled rifle is a joy to shoot and makes not much difference in velocity out to 100m. If I could do it again, I would choose a normal stock rather than a thumbhole as it's a bit on the heavy side for competitions. Hope that helps.

I bought a 5 shot magasine, that would be nice if the rifle came with that. I find the release very easy to use, and loading the magasine is fast.
