Anschutz 1761 Day at the Range St. Patrick's Challenge

This is not my usual video. It is essentially a straight up narrated shooting video. I am boring, I know.
I decided to see how I would do with the Day at the Range challenge for Saint Patrick’s Day. I usually really stink at these, so I expect I will here as well. It was a decent day with temperature about 45 degrees Fahrenheit and 5 to 10 mph winds. I was shooting Lapua Long Range with my Anschutz 1761. It was not a great shoot. But it is what it is! This video is not speeded up and covers from sight-in (a lot longer than expected) to shooting the target.

The wind was there today for me, but I figured I would suck anyway!

On my target, I used cheap copy paper that tore easy. Like yours did. I also stapled it to a pretty poor shape (plastic, and all shot up and irregular shaped) backer board. So, it makes it hard to score, because of the paper tears, and the bullet holes don't look perfect. I was messing with my new CZ 457 American yesterday, and stapled the target to a nice cardboard backer, and used some newer ammo (Wolf Match Extra). The bullet impressions are nice and tight now, with minimal paper tear. I think if I were going to submit a new target, I'd print this on heavier paper, and make sure my target is stapled to a nice flat surface. Just glass bedded the CZ last night, so if it's allowed, I may submit a target from that rifle. I don't have a great choice of match grade 22lr ammo though, and don't know if I want to burn up any more of my 32 year old Federal Gold Medal Match. Good shooting though, and nice rifle!!

I often print mine on heavier paper than I did here as well. I am not great at most challenges so stick with ARA or similar most of the time. The heavier paper, and if your rifle likes it, Eley flat nose, punch better holes.
