My son and I have had a great deal of experience with Anschutz rifles dating back to the late 1980's. We shot them at Camp Perry and my son at many junior Olympic rifle matches. His carried him through a scholarship to West Virginia University and four All American awards and three NCAA Championships. I am always amazed at people today raving about accurate rifles and not mentioning the Anschutz. It is the father of accuracy. I have an old single shot similar to yours and it is extremely accurate with Eley Tenex. Try that when you can. Enjoy.

Wow! I love hearing stories. Of course, at that level, it’s more than a great gun; there has to be a great shooter pressing the trigger. I need to try more match grade ammo!

I shot against and with David and Mike while on various teams during the 80's.

I was a member of the Grove City College rifle team 76 and 77. The favorite match was at Pitt. Their team took us out to dinner in the red light Liberty Ave area. It was a great sport. We used iron sights on the most recent Anschutz.

That's a nice rifle. I have a Match 54 from 1967 that also shoots well. Suggestion: push the cartridges into the chamber with your thumb. Dropping them into the tray and closing the bolt has a higher risk of damaging the bullet and causing a flier.

Nice looking rifle, love the .22lr, Anschutz make fantasticly accurate rifles can't beat a bit of German engineering. Even though the rifle is 50 years old still shoots like new. 👍

This is my first experience with Anschutz, but I would have to agree with you.

@@jasoncampbell1843 most of the Olympic and winter Olympic target shooters use Anschutz or Walther, they make fantastic rifles. I particularly like watching the biathlon where they ski and then shoot, always looks like you need to not only be a great marksman and cross-country ski expert but also super fit. ( something I'm not ) anyway that rifle looks like it could be super accurate once you find the ammo it likes, watching from Ireland.

Hi Jason, I have the very same Annie, and just got back into Shooting after 38 years... (Long Story so I won't Bore you with it....) I shoot Prone and old school, Iron Sights but it's getting a bit hard on this 70-year-old Body! And so just had my first shoot at 50 metre Bench Rest on bags which isn't ideal! I do like the look of your Front Rest as it looks simple to use and very compact, compared to most other styles I've seen. Thanks Steve PS Great to see this Annie shooting so well. 🙂

I think it is a 1st generation SEB Joypod with several modification that were offered. Purchased from a friend when he upgraded to a new version. It is for my FTR rifle.

Don't like the table you are shooting off. A bench should be solid as a rock. Solid bench and take a full five minutes for full relaxation before shooting would halve those groups. Reminds me of the Anschutz I shot at school, all those years ago. I could almost fall asleep relaxing into position before a match practice. A coffee twenty minutes before would cost me a point. I still shoot a sporting 1710.
@jasoncampbell18433 ай бұрын
@@muskett4108 a solid bench would help, no doubt.

@@jasoncampbell1843 One of my pet peeves are benches that aren't "dead" solid. Wobble, and harmonic "dead". Easily enough to build. Be careful with wood as too thin can carry vibration. No:1 Sandbag are pretty "dead, as is brick, block, and concrete. At least be the equal to prone off the dirt. Anyhow, build one even if permanent and then that is one "variable" ticked off the list. Trigger time, is great time. ATB
