Anselm - Official US Trailer

In Anselm, Wim Wenders creates a portrait of Anselm Kiefer, one of the most innovative and important painters and sculptors of our time. Shot in 3D and 6K-resolution, the film presents a cinematic experience of the artist’s work which explores human existence and the cyclical nature of history, inspired by literature, poetry, philosophy, science, mythology and religion. For over two years, Wenders traced Kiefer’s path from his native Germany to his current home in France, connecting the stages of his life to the essential places of his career that spans more than five decades. In select theaters December 8.

Wim Wenders films contain such vast visions, both real & philosophical. I saw 'Until The End Of The World' almost 30 years ago, & I still haven't forgotten how the ideas in the film had me spellbound for months afterward. Those ideas linger with me even today, like the wisps of long-ago dreams.

@@gondolapatchouli although since my last comment I watched the film and i am both in awe and put off by the scale of his output and breadth of his creativity. The scale of his output really dwarfs warhol, ruby, walter de maria, Ai wei wei. I just wonder what his practice would be like if galleries didn;t get away with his prices. I mean he's a fucking good painter but the guy should slow down. I'd tke Beuys, arguably Kiefers inspiration, for fix of post war Nazi guilt work anyday. Be interested in other people's views on this.
