Magnifient. So many great aircraft, so much variety, what a nostalgic video, thank you for sharing! Now days we all just bounce around on 737's and A320's. QF used to run the 747 300 on the SYD-PER route, now it's mainly 73's.. It's a bit like crossing the Nullabor in a Datsun 120Y 😆

I love the fact that the markings on the Concorde simply said "British". Nothing else was necessary. Talk about an understatement....that's a superb example.

The Concorde really was the flagship of BA, there is an outstanding 5 hr video of a trip between London & New York showing all the detail of this amazing plane. Each one now has the Flight Engineers hat stuck between the the Engineers Panel where the plane contracted as it cooled after its last Supersonic flight.

Nice to know there is a community out there that lived through the reason we appreciate this footage. How the years have got away. Yuppieless Sydney airport is long gone.

wow lots of memories from flying in the 727. I was fishing down at the old tower when it took off with my Dad it was loud and a different noise then i said Dad look the Concorde we just starred at it while taking off

Geez the memories, all now a bygone era and that includes all those wonderfull aircraft types and the majority of those Airlines bar a couple! It’s great that you filmed a bit of our Australian history in the early jet age, and to think that the amazing and beautiful Concorde has come and now long gone!👍

Hopelessly nostalgic watching this video. I loved growing up in Mascot and watching how much aviation has changed over the decades. As a kid, my mates & I would sit inside the Ansett terminal with our Tandy scanners and plane spot. You'd get chucked in jail if you did that today. And that footage of the RW07/25 threshold was an unreal spot to get up close to the planes landing & taking off. Great times.

Thanks Kurt, Seems to a great impact, experiences at the time and is missed 1985 on Super 8 film costs at AU$12.00 at the time includes processing and postage 1978 prices for 3 minutes film no sound. Had switched to compact video cassette JVC in 1984 now obsolete and ancient in 2019. I understand that VH- RMS final flight was January 29 1980 with Ansett's passenger last B727-177QC flight AN213 service. For your info. I understand and a great collection:)

Back then they used registration letters for call signs eg Romeo Mike Sierra & on overseas flights the Flight No eg Qantas 88.. Flew a lot on East West & Ansett those days. Such a different world then. The Qantas 707’s shown ended the life with the RAAF. The F27 EWW reckon I did at least 5;flights on that. The DC9’s were often fun especially if the pilot was a bit of a real flyer. The pilots I knew loved them. The BA VC-10 was really before my time never saw one here. Did see 2 Concorde in Melbourne. The flap on the wing on the 727 . I vaguely remember that , what is it? An undercarriage indicator? Love the theme song “ Lily was Here” by Candy Dulfer . Brilliant video from a time I travelled a lot.

Yes a great Super 8 film recording... that is what we had at the time... no sound... I have lots of it too... very expensive at the time. Priceless expensive film records of the past in comparison with cheap smart phone videos that we have today 2019 with sound! Thanks Kurt Hofer. Yes I have allot of Super 8 as well. Ansett 727.

Thanks Kurt Hofer for your contribution seeing Ansett Airlines of Australia Boeing 727 VH-RMS QC 177 and VH-RMX Boeing 727-277 Advanced that I have been on board as a domestic passenger and Air New Zealand DC-10 Series 30 international I can't see rego that I have been a passenger numerous times with TE DC10 ZK-NZS, ZK-NZT, ZK-NZM old Air New Zealand code trans Tasman and the Pacific to LAX. It beats the service and quality that can't be delivered today by all another era. I never supported deregulation of the airline industry. Concorde gone and the VC10 was super. Fokker F27 was Ansett Airlines of South Australia VH-PNP, VH-MMR, VH-MMV and other full service in the 1980's. TAA has been great. I always fly with Ansett Airlines of Australia in Economy and in First Class. Did TAA domestic Business Class Economy as well at one time in the 1980's, all good with the introduction of Australian Airlines Logo Boeing 737- 376 August 1986. Miss it all. Ansett 727.

The Air NZ DC10 what I could make out looks to be the ill-fated ZK NZP { Mt erebus} The letter P on the nose wheel door.
@ansett72725 жыл бұрын
@@gordonhohapata3690 Yes looking at it with highest resolution 5+ minute mark I identify a P on nose door Air NZ DC10.. only just. Old school TE was a great experience on the Big 10 with cockpit visits between HNL and AKL mid Pacific Ocean in the middle of the night... the bright stars... thanks to the Chief Purser of TE at the time February 1981. Kids today have no access to airline cockpits mid flight these days for a visit. ZK-NZP TE901 impact Erebus on 28th November 1979 had a great impact with my life that I will keep private. Thanks gordon hohapata for your observations and contribution. Ansett 727.

Wow , 727-100 VH-RMS shown here taxing , many maybe are unaware that this aircraft is sitting currently at Brisbane airport and has been used since its retirement by an aviation school , apparently this beautiful piece of Australian domestic aviation history and also becoming rare 100 series will be scrapped in November 2020 so I've been told, also former TAA Boeing 727-100 VH=TJD sittting over in the UK retired also to be scrapped , not only has the true domestic airline history seemed to be smothered by everything Qantas these days , it seems that the only aircraft saved from destruction is also theirs as well , this is an absolute disgrace. We need to save these beautiful aircraft from both Ansett and TAA /Australian airlines . We must retain our true history, period .
