But for me Pep not only has created winning dominant teams with an incredible brand of football but as a manager and tactician has worked across leagues and revolutionised the football in each league AND globally.

Bent completely ignores the fact that Fergie took 8 years to to build United back up to winning a title and constantly talks about how pep has done things faster, while inheriting a team that won the league twice before he joined. Foundations of the argument aren’t there in the first place, if we’re going on starting point, subtract the 8 years it took Fergie to get into a position to win the league and go from there.

Let’s just ignore all the times Fergie broke the British transfer record…… Won nothing for a long time and United fans wanted him gone at first. 2 Champions Leagues in 27 years for the dominance they had on English football is poor. He also got badly found out against Pep in Europe where Pep embarrassed him. Fergie was incredible but it’s only longevity keeping him favoured he never had the impact on the game like Pep has.

In terms of impact...Pep (as a continuation and development of Cruyff'a Ideas) has completely changed the way football is played in the Premiership and actually the world over. Obvs Fergie was an incred manager but personally i don't think it's all about stats and for me there is not much comparison - Pep, as things stand, is just light years ahead of any other manager now and in the history of the game

If we take into account entire careers it’s genuinely not even close. Never mind the two head to head victories in UCL finals. Or the fact that Fergie didn’t even take training sessions. He was a glorified CEO. Pep is an actual trainer who can tactically run rings around Fergie, while also having a say in every aspect of the club.

Fergie took training sessions but not later on you know cause of age. Fergie was also running aspect of the club pep doesn't have to bother with, he just runs training. 3 in a row twice, first and only non cheated treble, only double winning manager, 13 prems, took a team from 19th to winning the champions league on 6th try. Peps only won one champs league in 14 years. He got beat by fergie over two games before he beat him in two games. Managed to build 5 successful teams at one club not bounce around to the next best option or already winning team.

Football has changed a lot. Fergie achieved a major legacy of success. BUT he would be a total failure in the modern game. He was a bully that shouted at young players when they didn't perform. Can't get away with that now. He was not a great tactician but had a style that was very effective for many years. Pep is clearly a superior manager, just hasn't been there LONG enough to compare to Sir Alex's record.

Totally agree. Fergie achieved something not done before or since with a club the size of Aberdeen. He broke the 100 year old domination of the Old Firm. If Pep took over eg Malaga and regularly beat Real and Barca by winning 10 trophies in 6 years, and then became the best team in Europe as Aberdeen was in 1983 then he can sit alongside The GOAT, SAF.
