For the story with the clips question. Don't use them. The player sucks, but consent can be rescinded. Think about it in other contexts, if someone initially says yes, but changes their mind, the "no" must be respected. Even if you had a binding contract, it's still more decent to respect their wishes no matter how petty the reasoning is.

Rerecord any scenes you want to keep without them and post those. It'll be fun and you won't have to worry about them causing trouble lately. I also agree people should be able to withdraw consent for that stuff unless it's under contract.

I could see it in a commercial situation (like, if you are an actor and you decide you don't want to participate in the middle of the production, you either can't do it at all or you have to pay the studio for their expenses). But in a non-commercial podcast, especially if it's something that is only going to be published - I totally agree.

I had the same reaction that Jack did about the note taking player; I have one player in my group who doesn't really RP and overall is pretty quiet. But once we hit combat they pull their weight and love to use their paladin class to help! I've talked to them before and they're having a great time, they just enjoy being in the company of the group and helping, they don't want a lot of RP time outside of small occasions. And I LOVE that for them and now that I know that about their style, it doesn't bother me. It WOULD bother me though if they were like the players in the submission and not aiding in ANY way (RP or combat), because that that point it is hindering the group

A middle ground solution for the clips question, they could mute the audio where they're speaking and replace their lines with a voice over from the DM, along with a stand-in character so nothing originally owned by the og player is actually used, while still keeping those interactions intact

The player character that can't speak well and is snatching things is probably a kenku, and the player is leaning into the roleplay of only being able to repeat things they've heard before, and being all about gathering shinies.

I had my wisdom teeth removed my 11th grade year and missed a month of school. Mine grew in completely sideways and they had to literally remove parts of my jaw to get to them. Was swollen for almost two weeks, and in pain for almost a month. I missed the stoichiometry lessons in my chemistry class and couldn’t catch up and if anyone who has ever taken chemistry in school knows you have to have a grasp of stoichiometry to get the rest of chemistry. My teacher felt so bad for me she gave me side work to help me pass the class. I was on pain meds for another month after. It was awful.

Don't even talk about dentists to me 😢 just over a year ago i had my wisdom teeth out under anaesthetic as they were impacted $5,000 aud later. Then 7 weeks ago I had extreme tooth pain so went to the dentist luckily same day. Root canal so I'm $3,000 in to that and still need to have a crown put on. Luckily I had the money but man it drained my savings so much.
