im glad japanese players have spoken out about the state of the game and bc of it the developer has had to respond. I'm glad that they will try to fix some of the issues in the game. Will it ever be truly polished? I'm doubtful but hopefully it will be better than what it is now

I agree after those concerns came out I've held off on purchasing the digital bundle and now currently don't have much interest in getting it release date. The developers fixing some issues is a pretty great though and how much is fixed will determine if I decide to buy full price. I recently bought RF4S to help the waiting time for PoOT (before those concerns and issues were brought up from the Japanese player base) so if anything I'm pretty content with RF4S and replaying it all over again is even more fun.

@@Tricks_99 The game has a lot of technical issues and bugs. And a lot of it stems from having a brand new producer. So on top of the bug there's a lot of mechanics and choices long time fans don't like. But the good thing is they said they hear that and will be patching a lot of things in. It's just sad that this is the franchises 25th anniversary

I want more responsibility. I want to be able to buy pet food to give to your pets and as your children grow up can they help with the farm. Because the more ppl you have taking care of the farm the more time you have to explore those up and coming expansion packs.

Usually devs try to hide it better but that’s a fairly standard development practice, you can see it in most 3D games without having to look very hard

Really good point about having makers/tool in their own space. I really enjoyed in A Wonderful Life having a toolshed next to the barn, and having a literal fridge for milk (it's own building too like wow). I'm excited to play even more now!

I found AWL tedious bc if the version I played but big agree, some of my best memories were spending time in that maker/fridge shed prepping ingredients. I do hope they add in some kind of shed bc not only would it reduce lag but it would allow everyone to keep their farm a bit more tidy as well as making a maker run a single trip to one area. (I imagine past a certain point when you run out of room you have to run around quite a bit)

I watched a lets play and something that really disappointed me was that you can't actively participate on the egg festival and that most of the cut scenes with the villagers will not give you items. For example there is a cut scene where you can eat cake with the villagers but in the end you dont have a cake in your poket. I think that it would be so cute if they have added these features in the game

I think this game make a good experience on story of seasons (except remake version). The thing that i'd to add in this game is the building that can put all the maker in there saving space and reduce a fps drop a bit !!

the fixing up the town to attrack more people reminds me of the first story of seasons on the ds in it the mayor is a lady and you fix up the town building things the difference is you place them yourself in that game also i feel like the house was pretty customizable in that game you could move furniture around and change walpaper ect and in trio of towns once you fully upgrade your house there was a number of differnt styles you could change it to i have a cute animal theme house in my save on trio of towns but the furniture i dont think was able to be moved around or really changed

I also agree the makers spoil the aesthetics of the farm and should be housed in a building. My solution is to move them to the spring/summer/fall/winter farm sites.

Well, I am not sure if this is true, but, if they are adding other romance options, and if I can trust the wiki, it seems they are adding Ludus from SoS ToT. If he is added, they might add house customization through him since that was his job in his game. Not that I know, but it would be an easy way to add it in. Just like adding Neil could bring in more animals and such. But that is just a wild guess.

Much like in Doraemon Story of seasons the tools are better when upgrade to Silver. Olive town looks far more interesting than HM one world. Customizing the house interior is not a big deal. I want to talk to villagers while balancing farm choirs. Probably won't start decorating the farm till second year.

my beginner tips 1. learn how to make your makers, some items are in a crafting menu, not at the shops , not at an object in your farm they are in a menu I lost 3 weeks not knowing I had menus. 2. Keep a little of every thing and sell a little of every thing you never know when you'll need a really odd thing 3. upgrade the hammer and Ax 1st so getting more materials goes faster I would put this up there with the best so far. New Beginning and Animal Parade also had a lot of fun to them. lost valley, Wonderful Life and Light of Hope were not my favorites. HM64/ FoMT are mostly nostalgia now going back to them now feels out dated. Im also wondering about other farm or life sims that are on Switch Some thing with getting married ,having friends and family, building custom things easy on par with this game but more realism too. Give me people who have more complexity to them. let me have more clothing and hair options give me just a little more to do then collect things, give me more verity, more interactions. and I also want a heavily involved Photography game.

Another thing, Josh mentioned about the makers being ugly and out-of-place (which I totally agree, I felt that way when I saw the very first trailer); reminds me of HM ANB had cute little houses with the makers and workbenches inside of them, I loved that idea. People refer to SOS/HM FoMT a lot but they need to reference HM ANB, I think that was a well-made game for its time and there was A LOT to make and do in that game. I also like the aspect of building the town myself.

I dont see that as regression. Customizing the town in that game was part of what made that game unique in the series, plus there was story behind doing that. Just as well, other titles had specific things that made each of them unique, too. They can't just add features and keep adding them on top of eachother with each passing game. Things wouldnt make much sense.

I wasn’t going to buy the game because I didn’t really like the bachelorettes/bachelors but I didn’t want to miss out on the expansion pack. I’m enjoying it but it is for sure not my favourite. I don’t like the lack of profiles during conversations and I’ve had a decent amount of graphical issues (clipping, animals going through walls, etc (also not a graphical issue but I don’t like the photos for loading screens, wish I could just turn that off or switch it to like concept art or something; I don’t want to look as bad pics of people’s eyes or cow butts lol)). I also wished that the character and house customization was better (and that you could places things at an angle on farm land :/) I think that once I get my farm really going that I will like it more though. I would say that if you really want the suitors that are suppose to come into the game like me then to go for it. If you don’t really care, then I would wait for a sale.

I feel it a justified complaint and hopefully in the future they know not to get rid of it because of how strange it is starting of a conversation with someone is. If you don't move your character a certain way you can't see the people. Also you can't properly see the characters face so talking feels less immersive compared to trio of towns and others when portraits were a thing and we got to see the characters expressions in a convo. Something I noticed in another play through is how short the heart events seem compared to the previous title (trio of towns).

(first off i am neurodivergent and i have a hard time summarizing my thoughts so i apologize about the length, this is not an attack on anyone as i know long comments are typically bad) As someone who focuses more on the villagers, relationships, and dialouge i wished i watched reviewers, i have Iori at almost full hearts (I didnt even ask him out yet as i cant even tell if i like him yet) i can say for me, this is the worst game in the series so far. I own 19 of these games. the gameplay and the farming are fun, but i hope the patches make it like the older games. >n

They haven't had portraits before in some other Harvest Moon games. I wouldn't let portraits turn you away from the game! Animal Parade didn't have portraits and is considered one of the best.

Why would I pay $55 when I can get a similar game, just as big, with lots to do, with very large worlds, just as good, possibly better than this for less than half the price?? This game is HUGELY and RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. AND it's not even the FULL game?? There are DLCs? The value of the game is about $20 to $25. Or less really - the graphics aren't even that great, from what I can see in this video. Why? Because it's in the Chinese language? I don't even think it would be worth it on sale...
