PROTEIN OATMEAL / ICING RECIPE:
50g Old Fashioned Oats
1 Cup Water
1 Whole Egg (you can use egg white if preferred)
40g Protein Powder (I use PEScience Chocolate Peanut Butter or Chocolate Mint), divided
20g Hershey's Dark Cocoa Powder, divided
25g Fage Zero Fat Greek Yogurt
Add oats to a microwave safe bowl. Pour in 3/4 cup water. Microwave on high for 80 seconds. Add remaining water, stir and microwave for 70 seconds. (Keep an eye on it so it doesn't boil over!)
While that's microwaving, grab 2 small bowls. In one bowl, add 15g protein powder, 5g dark cocoa powder, and 25g Greek yogurt. Set aside. In other bowl add 25g protein powder and 15g dark cocoa powder. Remove bowl from microwave and add the egg. Stir until it's completely mixed in. Then add the ingredients of the bowl with the 25g protein powder and 15g dark cocoa. Stir until it's completely mixed in. Place that bowl back in the microwave for 60 seconds. While that's in the microwave, add 1tsp water at a time to the other bowl with 15g protein / 5g dark cocoa powder / greek yogurt until you get it to a thicker icing consistency.
I like to mix the oats when I take it out of the microwave. Then I take a little bit of the icing on my spoon along with some oats. It's delicious!
